Revolution (1 Viewer)

I am still kinda hoping we get some sort of resolution with the AI. Everybody running around fighting their little wars, and if it(?) decides to, the human race is dead.

I was still watching with the wife - but the show was completely frustrating. It was constantly moving the cheese and it became just about a post-apocalyptic type survival and the restoring the power story became a minor storyline.

After this week's episode, I can't say I am too disappointed. The Revolution was obviously going to end up being man against nano, which I had zero interest in. Not to mention, it started out bows and knives, and now everyone has a gun. Show had a great premise, and they totally blew it IMHO.

Guns were rare and ammo scarce originally. Now everyone packs better weaponry than the 82nd Airborne. I've hated that aspect of it.

WTF! Are they going to at least wrap it up or is it just a dead end??
They just cancelled the series, the shows were filmed before the announcement.
The only other show I watched that they stopped was the Black Donnely's but they finished up

online from what I remember--any chance that happens or is this just done?
The only hope I could see for episodes to continue would by if it went to the SyFy channel which I believe is also owned by NBC. However, my guess is that isn't financially feasible.

I'd bet done done. They must have shot these episodes at least a month ago if not more, and actors would be released from their contracts soon if not already upon cancellation. A show like this probably requires a lot of visual effects that make it pretty expensive to do if it's just going to be online.

If you would've told me at the beginning of this season that they would cancel the show abruptly at the end of the year, I'd have been very upset...but now, I can't say I feel the same way. The show just got monotonous about 1/3 of the way through this season. The believability reached new lows, and the whole humans vs. nano thing just became too random in terms of what could be done and what couldn't...Not to mention the number of times people nearly died, and were separated, yet somehow ran into each other in a new town miles and miles away without any communication. Oof...It was time. It started off well, but it just got to be too much.

*ETA - Much like (HULK) and TxBuckeye's comments about how guns went from scarce to everywhere, I had to laugh at how Charlie went from a (the?) main character to basically being nearly non-existant in story lines other than to be a little slut and sleep with any young thing that wondered into their group.

Yea, but the swordfighting was absurd. I have no problem with this change.

Just found out this was canceled. I only saw a few episodes but remember it ALWAYS getting pumped on on NBC's football promos. Big reason why I can't get into these TV shows. You never know how long they will last.

I was enjoying the show actually. Though I still have about half the season left on my dvr, but hard to get into watching with it cancelled. cant get myself to delete either.

I enjoyed it and was disappointed it was cancelled.. Was hoping SciFi or Netflix would pick it up for at a final season.. :kicksrock:

I'm coming with you.

No, you aren't. ...

rinse,

repeat.

Show had a lot of promise. Failed miserably. How did the one guy stay fat?

I enjoyed this show, but I do think they made the Nano a bit too powerful. Too many different storylines going on to keep track of as well. Still, I enjoyed watching it, although it wasn't unusually for me to get a few weeks behind the DVR and catch up once other (better) shows were off the air for break.

I watched every episode. The show was out of ideas by about 10 episodes in. Eventually, several characters would go on a journey, some would stay behind, the bad guys would threaten everyone with some new weapon, the characters who left would return, and then the cycle would repeat. It was really quite insipid.

Love the gal who played Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos), though. Hope to see her in something else next season.

Revolution: Cancelled NBC Series to Get Resolution But Not on TV

http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/revolution-cancelled-nbc-series-to-get-resolution-in-comics-36247/

Last May, NBC cancelled the Revolution TV show after two seasons on the air. The cancellation left plenty of unresolved storylines and aggravated viewers. Now, the creative team behind the series has reunited to give fans some closure courtesy of four digital comic books. The first will be released on May 4th.

Here’s the press release:

“REVOLUTION” DIGITAL COMIC BOOK TO DEBUT IN MAY FROM WARNER BROS. TELEVISION AND DC COMICS

Four Separate Chapters Will Resolve Series Storylines For Fans Beginning May 4th

BURBANK, CA (April 15, 2015) – Fans of the Warner Bros. Television series Revolution, which ended a two-year run on NBC in May 2014, are going to get a resolution to the show’s storylines that were left open-ended in the final broadcast episode.

In response to passionate fan efforts to revive the show, the entire creative team behind the series – including executive producers Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Jon Favreau – regrouped to create a special four-chapter digital comic book with DC Comics that will serve to continue and ultimately resolve the adventures last seen in Revolution’s second season finale.

Revolution writers David Reed and Ryan Parrott handled the writing duties of the digital comic’s four chapters, after breaking the story in the writers’ room along with the rest of the Revolution creative team, which included Kripke, O’Bannon, Paul Grellong, David Rambo, Trey Callaway, Anne Cofell Saunders, Ben Edlund, Matt Pitts and Jim Barnes. A photo of the team at work on the digital comic, along with a special guest who fans will recognize, can be seen here.

Illustrated by DC Comics’ artist Angel Hernandez, each of the four separate digital chapters will also have a specially designed cover, and will roll out every two weeks beginning Monday, May 4. A sneak peek at three of the illustrated Revolution characters – Charlie Matheson, Miles Matheson and Sebastian Monroe – can be seen here.

The four chapters will each be debuting exclusively on www.ComicBook.com for one week before being made available for viewing on Revolution’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Revolution. Fans can also use the #RevolutionComic hashtag on Twitter to find out more information about the digital comic.

Here is the rollout schedule for each chapter on www.ComicBook.com:

· Chapter 1 – Monday, May 4

· Chapter 2 – Monday, May 18

· Chapter 3 – Monday, June 1

· Chapter 4 – Monday, June 15

Revolution creator/executive producer Eric Kripke had this message for fans regarding the digital comic:

April 15, 2015

Dear Revolutionaries, Patriots, and Soldiers of the Monroe Militia,

So first of all – thank you. Seriously. Sincerely. The loyalty you’ve shown REVOLUTION these past months has been touching and overwhelming – it’s meant more to me than you’ll ever know. And in case you were wondering – yes, we’ve been listening. We’ve read the tweets. We’ve seen the incredible petition. We’ve followed #RelocateRevolution. Please know that you’ve been heard.

And solely because of your efforts, we wanted to pay you back – to give you something fantastic. And while, unfortunately, we simply can’t make more episodes of the show (alas, there are financial realities we can’t overcome), we can do the next best thing. Which is end the story. On our terms. Exactly the way we would have.

So J.J., Jon and I are pleased and proud to announce the REVOLUTION endgame: a four-issue series coming soon from DC Comics. If you take a look at the attached photo, you’ll see that we brought back the entire writing staff to work on it. The band’s back together! (And if you study the photo closely, you’ll notice a certain young, plucky Matheson who also joined us). Everyone has generously agreed to work for little or no money. They’re doing it, because like you, they’re passionate about this story and want to see it end correctly.

So stay tuned. We’ve got lots of work to do. We’ll keep you posted – in the coming months, you can expect more details, sneak peeks, and early artwork. But Miles, Monroe, Rachel, Charlie, Aaron, Neville and the rest will return for the epic finale to the REVOLUTION storyline. We hope you’re as excited as we are.

And again – thank you. This is because of you. This is for you.

Much love,

Kripke

From J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, Supernatural’s Eric Kripke and Warner Bros. Television, Revolution was a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama series that centered around one family’s struggle to survive 15 years after a mysterious worldwide blackout. Created by Eric Kripke and executive produced by Kripke, Abrams, Bryan Burk, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Jon Favreau, the series was produced by Bonanza Productions in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Television.

So dumb question - is a "digital comic" just a comic book that's online? Or is it more than that? Like, Do I have to look at screen boxes and read dialogue just like a normal comic book?

Tracy Spiradakos: Dad I want to explore the post blackout world.

Tim Guinee: The post blackout world is far too dangerous Katniss.

Tracy Spiradakos: Charlie.

Tim Guinee: Right, Charlie. Not Katniss. Got it. But anyway you can't go out into the world. You might get murdered or catch the plague or get a splinter or stub your toe. And I won't even mention the whole rape thing even though we all know there would be tons of that going on.

Tracy Spiridakos: Fine, too dangerous. Got it.

Storms off

Giancarlo Esposito rides into town with a bunch of militia men

Giancarlo Esposito: I have been on the road a long time away from my family and I'm in a bad mood. You must be a very important person as I have been specifically ordered to track you down and bring you in alive. The boss was very specific about the whole alive thing. I even asked him if he meant "Dead or Alive" and he said in no uncertain terms to bring you in alive.

Militia man shoots Tim Guinee

Giancarlo Esposito: Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned that whole alive thing to my militia men. No worries. Uhhhhhhh...just take the boy instead. Sure why not.

Tracy Spiradakos who in no way resembles Katniss

finds her dying father Tim Guinee

Tim Guinee: Katniss you must go out into the post blackout world to Chicago and find my brother for some non-specific reason.

Tracy Spiridakos: Charlie

Tim Guinee: Yeah, right. Not Katniss. Got it.

Tracy Spiridakos: But you just said that the post blackout world was too dangerous, with all the murder and the raping.

Tim Guinee: I don't recall saying that.

Tracy Spiridakos: That happened like two minutes ago. You were quite adamant about it being too dangerous.

Tim Guinee: I never. [Dies]

And away we go

I don't think this one is going to hold my attention.
Soooooo...did it ever get better?
