RGIII Height Question Answered (1 Viewer)

They just stated on Sirius NFL Radio that RGIII measured in at 6'2 + a little to spare at the Combine. I searched on google and I haven't seen it reported anywhere. Anyone else hear this? For me this was a pretty big deal considering some were saying he was right around 6'0

Any word on weight?

It's so crazy that 2 inches was going to dramatically affect his draft stock, man the NFL overthinks things. I understand it makes a difference, but c'mon...

Hieght wasn't the thing I was concerned about with his frame.

He is a different breed in his body-type. Large head and lower body but his upper body looks less developed so it raises questions over durability especially since he will take off and be open to hits down field.

Love RG III as a prospect but his height wasn't an issue for me, he always seemed to be about 6'2 that he was listed at and he may even come in around his listed weight but he still seems smallish with his upper body to me.

He is actually strong for a QB. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have the most bench press reps of all QB's at the combine.

He's got exceptional lower body strength. Saw one workout of his that was taped where his squat was over 600lbs. Very impressive. I would be suprised if his bench is exceptional. If it is then I am wrong but from my point of view his upper body doesn't appear that strong.

How is there such discrepancy in today's day and age?!?! There were thoughts he was UNDER 6'0, and now he measures at OVER 6'2?? Next thing we know, Russell Wilson will be measuring at 6'4...

There were only thoughts of him being 6'0" from people who had no idea what they were talking about. He always looked to be around 6'2", in comparison to others around him.

He's totally ripped from head to toe, not sure where bracie is getting his info from. Not like his upper body strength means anything with the way he spins the ball. Strange conversation.

it makes a big difference for a QB.
:goodposting: I know everyone is going to say "Drew Brees is 6'0 and he's elite".....he's the exception. Those few extra inches as a QB make a big difference. GM's agree.....I heard several of them talking about it today on the radio. Granted if RG3 measured in at 6'0, I bet he'd still go #2 overall in the draft. None-the-less 6'2, 223 lbs is great news for those of us who like RG3.

Do QBs even do the bench at the combine?? If it is, its news to me and I cant think of any QB whose draft stock I heard rise/fall due to bench reps.RG3 looks pretty ripped to me, certainly not weak. The only QBs in the league I would actually bet bench more than RG3 are Cam and Tebow.

Sometimes you really hear weird stuff about a QB's muscle mass. First it was that Brady Quinn has too much upper body muscle. Now RG3 doesn't have enough? And he has a "big head"? Are they weighing heads at the combine now? :loco:

I usually look for QB's in the 'sweet spot' of the HMI (Head Mass Index) and his is too high.

I lick my chops more and more daily.RG3, a Brown. It'll be my first jersey purchase since Winslow Jr.
ha. a friend and I go back and forth a few times a week about how much he doesn't want RG3.

I just wish I knew all the details as to why each centimeter mattered so much. The QB has to see over the line, yes, but an inch isn't going to give you that much leverage. Other than that, I'm 6'4" and I know I can put on more weight than someone 5'10" and hide it better.
