Rhodes v. Addai (1 Viewer)

my man otis

Footballguy
I didn't see the game but by the numbers I have to think Addai is slowly taking over and may be the Indy back to start if you have to choose one vs. the other going forward.

Addai - 104 yds on 18 touches, 1 TD

Rhodes - 59 yds on 16 touches, 1 TD

Gotta think Addai will be the man sooner rather than later.

Thoughts after week 2?

addai has looked better in both games, so i'm going with addai from now on and sitting rhodes.
I thought it was pretty close between the 2 in week 1. Didn't see any of week 2. But I agree that this proved little vs a very inferior team.

Gotta take into account Addai's fumble at the goal line today. That's ugly.
A fumble is a fumble, but in his defense, he was fighting to get in the endzone against 3 defenders and while he was being held up someone punched the ball out. I doubt the coaches will dwell on it too much. As for them paying HOU, they were also going against #1 draft pick Mario Williams who HOU thinks is more valuable then Bush. :sarcasm:

He's' a rookie and it is week 2. You know he is going to end up carrying the heavy end of the workload by end of season when Rhodes will then return to his appropriate role as a 3rd down/change of pace back. With that said, Rhodes knows the system and should be good for an early season play, which is why I drafted him in the leagues I have him in.

Accually while he was piled up one of his own tackles hit him trying to give him that extra push which jarred the ball loose.

um they played houston
Um, the fact of the matter is this. The two of them played against the exact same personnel and in the end one looked a lot better than the other. It's not about Houston being a weak D, it's about the two of them playing the exact same D. And one of them got a ton of carries at the end of the game when my Grandmother knew they were just going to hand off to run the clock down. Despite knowing it was going to be run first, second and third Addai looked much better than Rhodes. For all of you Rhodes owners who site the fact that Rhodes ran for 1K the year Edge went down need to wonder why the Colts took a RB in the first round. Easy....Rhodes isn't all that good. That's wny he's been a backup his whole career. Nobody stepped up with a contract when Rhodes was a FA to sign the guy. And the Colts who are very close to making a SB run use their number 1 pick on a RB?BTW, I'm a Rhodes owner....

1. Addai has looked better in the 1st two weeks.

2. I don't see a switch in starter/backup coming until at least after the bye week - which is week 6. One, they probably don't want to rock the boat while the team wins (and, they are likely to start at worst 4-1). Two, they don't want to wear the rookie out.

I'm trying to use his production the past two games (10 and 11 points in my league) as a selling point to get a different player of any value before Addai takes over.

I waited to long on Lundy, hopefully I can get something for Rhodes before it's too late as well.

I totally agree with the Week 6 prediction. I've been saying for a while that I predict Addai starting by they time the team comes back from the break. At that point Rhodes will be back where he belongs, in the rear with the gear.

Disagree. I watched the replay on big screen hi res here in Indy. Initially, I saw what you did. But on further review, the ball had started to come out BEFORE his teammate hit him for the extra push. Whether he could have regained control, I dunno.

I do think he looked better than Rhodes this week as far as rushing, but Indy's offense requires a lot more out of the RB position (but I'm definitely not qualified to comment on those aspects.)

:-( (I have Rhodes on my roster.)
