Rick Gosselin DRaft thread (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the post. Anyone know when his first mock is expected?
Should be up soon, but should also be ignored. His final mock, the one that counts, is always very, very different from his earlier ones.
Right and the thing for others to know about Goose is that he isn't a big college football fan. He's not doing any serious scouting on his own. He's a pure NFL reporter addicted to the draft process. He does this based on what has appeared to be some remarkably accurate sources, or an intuitive ability to put together the pieces better than othersThere's some surprising names on the lists, imo. Quentin Groves is not listed top 5 at DE or OLB? Oversight? That's my guess, but who knows. Dan Connor ILB3 with Mayo #1? Interesting crop that isn't getting enough respect, imo. I sure won't let a top ILB past me in the late 2nd or 3rd round of an IDP rookie draft. Bryan Kehl from BYU OLB2? Help. Eddie Royal WR5? Nice, what a mess these WRs are to rate and rank. Jamaal Charles RB5 ahead of Felix, Rice, and Johnson? I like these backs a lot, btw. I read some scout claim as many as a dozen of these will be featured backs in a couple years. Pretty sure that was a Frank Coyle opinion. I don't know about a dozen, but 10 would not surprise me much with the requisite RBBC understood. Those are the things that caught my eye.

HALFBACK

5. Jamaal Charles Texas 5-11 200

I understand his value in the right system. Could be dynamite in the pros. But taking him over Felix Jones is folly. Ray Rice IMO has more value as a full time guy than Charles.

WIDE RECEIVER

5. Eddie Royal Virginia Tech 5-9½ 184

This is a steal. I really like this guy. That said, I think Early Doucet is falling way too far for his level of talent. May not be the flashiest but he's the surest receiver out of this bunch.

Good to see this. I really like the upside of this guy. He blew me away more than any other prospect at the Combine.

Nailed the order here out of this five but Groves is an omission here or on the OLB list. I fully believe he can hold up as a 4-3 DE and would be devastating as a 3-4OLB.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE

4. Marcus Harrison Arkansas 6-2½ 317

5. Trevor Laws Notre Dame 6-0½ 304

Interesting ranking here. I was always down on Harrison for the character issues, but I may have slid him too far down. I think Dre Moore should be in this top-5 mix for sure.

Agree to disagree. I think wheeler should be ranked near the top of the ILB list. I also think Woodyard and Gooden should be on this list.

No gripes here, though I don't really like Connor or Gooden inside. I think the top two will really surprise. IMO, Lofton has a good chance at DROY.
