Freaking heart breaking. Jets have been a joke for most of my adult life but this guy wasn't. They drafted him and Ferguson my senior year of college so they were MY guys. This sucks

This makes me sad. Mangold was not only a great player, he seemed like a good dude. I had read that he had posted looking for a kidney donor, but had no idea it was that dire to pass away so shortly after.

A former 1st round pick from Ohio State, easily one of the best OL in the NFL from 2006-2016
7 Pro Bowls and 2x ALL Pro and many feel he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
He was a throwback, used a combination of power and intelligence to gain leverage on opponents.
Mangold anchored the OL for the Jets in the 2009 AFCC and the 2010 AFCC, falling just short against Pittsburgh
