RIP Sean Connery (1 Viewer)

I re-watched The Untouchables not too long ago. His dialogue on how to get Capone are the most memorable lines in the movie. And he also delivered an all-time great death scene.

Lord help me, i'm a peaceable man, but i shonuff miss the take-care-of-business days, when the biggest & strongest among us kept the peace instead of made the trouble. Connery's Bond will always symbolize that for me.

Beyond that, however, i remember Sir Sean for Daniel Dravot, Esquire - the man who would be king in the greatest movie no one remembers. Connery had been scrambling to find success outside of 007 and both sides of his performance journey played on his face when  he went out on a balcony to receive the adoration of a nation of swarthies who had not just appointed him their ruler but anointed him their God, then held his head as regally when they tore him down. The empire of film thanks him. RIP -

I had been thinking of him for a long time because of this thread. He was one of those men who seemed immortal, I guess.

Ooh, Connery & Caine. It's on Netflix. Gonna tee that up sometime this weekend.

cool story I just found out. My uncle sold him a cell phone about 20 years ago, and he (my uncle) picked out a phone number that ended in 007. Connery's secretary called my uncle shortly after saying how thankful Sean was that he took the time to get that #.

RIP 007

John Huston at the helm of a classic Rudyard Kipling story. All-time Top 5 for me.

ETA: unfortunately, NF only has Man Who Would Be Polka King, far as i know

I'm not sure why, but I love this story.
