Rob Rang chat transcript from USA Today (1 Viewer)

fort worth,tx: do you think the cowboys will trade up and get darren mcfadden?

Rob Rang: There is some possibility to this. Dallas has made calls, my sources tell me, about moving into the top five to nab McFadden. They've also expressed interest in others, including DT Glenn Dorsey and DE/OLB Vernon Gholston.
albany, nyh: will the giants trade shockey

Rob Rang: If they get an offer of legitimate value, they will. The rapid progression of rookie Kevin Boss played a huge role in the Giants run last year and Shockey has become a distraction. The Saints remain the favorite, in my opinion.
tulsa , oklahoma: do you think jonathan steward will be around at number 22 in the first round?

Rob Rang: No way.
Derek (Nashua): Do the chiefs jump on the chance to land Vernon Gholston and try to grab an OL later in round 1. Wouldn't Gholston/Long whoever is on board plus Otah or the chance of Clady (which I doubt) would slip a better first round grade than Albert and Merling or Harvey. Also Harvey could be gone and its taking a risk on hoping someone (Washington) doesn't move ahead of them for Merling. I know the growing consensus is Chiefs move back for Albert, but they do have ALOT of picks this year so perhaps they should use their chips to take Gholston and if need be, move up from 17 for Harvey

Rob Rang: The Chiefs are actively working the phones in an effort to move into position to draft Gholston and may work something out with St. Louis, Atlanta, or even division rival Oakland to do so. You're right, the value is much better to take the pass rusher with the first pick, as it is a gamble to hope for Phillip Merling to be available at #17. There should be several offensive linemen of value, at that point, however.

Rang is all over the Seattle draft (he's a local from Gig Harbor). He has a feel for the Seahawks like few others when it comes to the draft.

Gholsten would be a HUGE mistake in my opinon for the Chiefs. From what I have been reading locally in Kansas City and hearing on the radio many other fans feel the same way about him.

Yeah, that Chiefs tidbit is eye-opening.
Vernon Gholston-DL- Player Apr. 25 - 9:29 am et The Raiders are discussing moving down from the No. 4 spot in the draft."More than ever, not in Raider fashion, we may trade back," coach Lane Kiffin said. "And that stems from the lack of picks and not having a fifth, a third or a second." Kiffin added that the team has had "serious" discussions with a number of teams interested in the fourth pick.Source: SportingNews.com

On the other hand, if this is a smokescreen and they really want Chris Long, I would be ALL for trading up to get him.

All along though, I have never thought Howie would let his kid play for KC -- too much bad blood there.
