Roddy White (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure that there's a WR in the league playing better than White this season. He has to be the most underated player in the league. Heck, he could be the most underated player in league history if he keeps doing what he's doing. Absolutely no recognition for him even though he has been a monster.

He's really not all that close to the best WR in the NFL, that's prob. why you aren't seeing that type of recognition.

he's a 2X state champ in wrestling. That says something for a WR. Not sure where you've been looking that hasn't recognized him...but everyone on Sirius NFL radio or the broadcasters for the games certainly respect him. It's apparent that defenses do as well, but they can't stop the grappler from owning them despite constant double teams...

I'd like to see Calvin Johnson with a Matt Ryan caliber QB. That should answer your question.

That's interesting especially coming from a WR since usually linemen wrestle during the winter and WR types, I would assume, typically play B-Ball. The dude's been awesome and helped me and I'm sure many other owners get into the playoffs. Tough matchup next week though against the Bucs. I believe he had like 60 yds. against them all the way back in week two. Can't bench him though. Can you?

I agree that Calvin would be (more of a) monster with even a decent QB, but Roddy put up those numbers last year with a rotating team of losers at QB.I love Roddy. Probably going to be my keeper in my PPR league. Since week 3 (I spot MRyan a couple of games at the beginning of the season since he was just warming up), Roddy is one of the most consistent WRs in the league (Boldin and Fitz match up in terms of catches, % catch, and TDs). Boldin would probably have that honor had he not missed games due to injury (all the more impressive that he came right back and picked up where he left off....).

I've been unable to respect or root for White since he showed the "Free Mike Vick" t-shirt. I understand sticking by your friends, but acting like Vick was a victim of injustice was too much for me.

Roddy is awesome, but he is not the best in the league.

Fitzgerald and Boldin are definitely ahead of him, as is Calvin Johnson and maybe Andre Johnson (not sure, I don't see him play enough).

Fitz is definately ahead of him, as is Andre Johnson. After those two, White is in there in the convo with anyone imo, at least talking right now and the forseeable future.

I agree that he's one of the best up and coming WRs in the league. Has far less baggage than T.O. and Brandon Marshall as well.

I'm glad the Falcons have turned the corner from the Vick era, and that disasterous Petrino season as well. Arthur Blank seems to

be the type of owner that wants to do whatever it takes to bring a winner in Atlanta - and I think he's on the right path with Matt Ryan,

Michael Turner and Roddy White on the offensive side of the ball. If they can continue to develop and remain healthy, they'll be amongst the league leaders

for the next half dozen years.

White attended James Island High School in Charleston, South Carolina, and was a three-sport letterman and standout in football, baseball, and wrestling. In football, he broke every school career receiving record, was a two time All-Low Country honoree, a two-time All-State honoree, and was also listed as one of the top receivers in the nation on Rivals.com. In wrestling, he was a two-time state champion. Referred to by his peers as Shanaz.
This is good stuff.

I agree that he's not the best wide receiver in the league. But when you consider where these players were drafted, he's certainly outproduced his draft positionby a wider margin than the others listed. You normally wouldn't expect to get WR1 production from a player taken as late as he was. Most of the other playersdiscussed other than C. Johnson were taken in the second to fourth round of the draft and even Johnson was taken in the fourth in some leagues. I'm not sayingthat the others listed haven't earned their draft position, just that White has exceeded his by a much wider margin.

It's almost silly at this point to say the top 10 receivers are better or worse than each other. You can argue who has which QB and what type of offenses they play in, but in the end they are all relatively at the same elite level. I'm talking Fitz, Roddy, Boldin, Marshall, Smith, Moss, Calvin, Jennings, and AJ. I dont include TO as I think he is nearing the end of eilte status.

Currently Roddy is the #4 ranked WR in Zealots. He's only behind Boldin, Fitz and Calvin. He's only 7.3 pts behind Boldin. Bottom line the guys is a stud.

I agree that it's hard to say Roddy is the best, as most of the top guys aren't far away from each other. To be sure though, Roddy now deserves to be mentioned in the top tier.

Through the first 13 weeks of the season, he's failed to catch 5 balls only three times, including 2 in week 1 (Ryan's first game as a pro) and 4 in weeks 2 and 12. Plus, he's never failed to reach 50 yards receiving in ANY game this year.

A few more TDs would be great (he hasn't scored in the last four games), but if that's not close to top-tier production, I don't know what is.
