Roethlisberger Replacement (1 Viewer)

I'm sure many of you, like myself are wondering what you are going to do about QB this week, with Roethlisberger looking very iffy and the waiver wire pretty scarce. Let's talk about possible replacements for week 15.

It's a Monday night game, so unless we get definitive word early in the week your only other option is going to be Alex Smith or Charlie Batch. :X

I have Tebow vs. the Pats as my back-up, though I don't know how much I like that. Yates isn't bad. Grossman isn't a bad option either.

Well, at least they have time to give Batch some reps this week. It was tough to watch his play last week when he came in for Roth.

Ben Roethlisberger's ankle injury has been officially diagnosed as a grade one high ankle sprain.

It's the least severe degree of sprain, but is still likely to prevent Roethlisberger from turning in much, if any, practice time this week. That being said, it shouldn't prove to be too large of an impediment for a quarterback who's made a living playing through pain. Roethlisberger may milk the drama this week, but it would be an upset if he's not under center against the 49ers. Dec 12 - 1:52 PM

Given the Steelers' history, I question if that is the right diagnosis. They are known to rush players back too soon.

It really depends on what Roethlisberger can do on the ankle. After he returned Thursday, he was SEVERELY limited. That is one of the reasons (IMO) they ran the ball 4 straight times at the goal line. Roethlisberger would not have been able to make the quick pivot needed to execute a play-action pass play in that situation. If he isn't able to put weight or pivot on that foot, he will be limited again. That being said-I have Grossman and Moore as possible alternatives to Roethlisberger. Both have good matchups this week & both did well in previous games against this week's opponent, but it makes me nervous having to rely on either in the FF playoffs.

If hes going to play hes starting for me. If you want to beat san fran you have to throw for tds. No one has run on them. Pitt has the wrs and qb to beat them. I think ben throws 2 or 3 tds. Yardage could be low and there might be a turnover but I think hes a lock for multiple scores.
