:lmao:  Another one dropping the critical thinking line
  i am so thankful that i do not know what you are referencing. I am guessing either the "right" or the "left" have been accused of not being able to critically think? if it makes you feel better, i think both sides likely have their fair share. it is an element missing from a lot of people, and i would love it to be added to high school curriculum so kids can learn how to think beyond what is presented

It's an insult Koya and Bruce love to throw out because they think it makes them look smart when they ramble on with usual nonsense

out of curiosity, why do you think there are so many people like this these days? i have a family member who was like this for years, and it was like he was in a cult. i think he has come out of it a bit, but it is scary when people just fall in line like that. I avoid the political threads in this forum like the bubonic plague. but it has always been so strange to me that people could be so "red team, blue team", and i just wondering how and why this is, and how we get past it. I think the 24-hour subjective news is a big one, but it is sad. Critical thinking is dying a slow death
I think you may have misunderstood me with regard to jon mx- he is not a "conservatives are always right" guy. There are dudes like that in this forum (and also one or two "liberals are always right" guys, though less of them.) jon mx is willing to criticize conservatives; it's just that when others do it he gets really defensive and makes sure he can always find an example in which liberals are just as guilty. That's a little different from what you're talking about.

As far as what you're talking about, I can't say I've ever really understood what motivates people to see the world in terms of black and white. I suppose it makes them feel more secure. But I've come to learn it's not an intellectual exercise; there are plenty of very smart people who prefer to feel this way.
