Rollins Watch: Broken Ankle? (1 Viewer)

Just saw it pop up on another site. Not sure if it's true yet, but thought it was worth passing along

Saw something on line that said WIP radio was reporting it, but I just listened to the stream and the sports update said nothing, but now Rotoworld has this

Jimmy Rollins reportedly was found to have a break in his injured left ankle.

If that's the case, he may need to miss another four to six weeks. The Phillies have yet to comment, but they'll probably have to talk about the matter before the end of the day. Apr. 23 - 6:11 pm et

Source: Jimmy Rollins Has Broken Bone in Ankle

By Perry

A source has contacted OTR that Jimmy Rollins’ injury is more than just a sprained ankle. Jimmy Rollins actually has a broken bone in his ankle. On April 20th, Jimmy was placed on the 15 day DL for a sprained ankle, but he could stay on the DL longer than first anticipated.

The 2007 National League MVP has only played in 12 of the 21 games this year, but the Phillies have managed well without him. However, Rollins is a vital piece to this team if they have any chance of winning back-to-back National League East titles.

OTR note: If you think this sounds ridiculous and wonder how Jimmy was playing on a broken ankle, think back to the 2001 NBA playoffs when Eric Snow played on a broken ankle.

I'm not buying this story yet, but it would be bad news for me (and poor Jimmie), if true. Right now I'm rolling with Cristian Guzman & Ronnie Cedeño.

Rollins needs a lot of ABs to live up to where I drafted him, and it's already looking a bit grim.

Good point. I hope that he can come back healthy and then I will look to move him.
