Ronald Curry (1 Viewer)

Just saw Curry's stat line. Pretty impressive. Is he looking that good? Does he look like the top target Oakland? Might be a guy people are looking to "sell high" just curious if this is his "high" or not.

(I thought I was selling high on Colston last year ...)

I dont know how high you can sell him. Hes a solid WR3 with upside as a WR2. Not sure how much more you can get for him. If you got him be glad you used a late round pick on a solid starting WR.

Man, I dropped him for Crayton last week. It was basically a coin flip. Hopefully Crayton pays off more overall for the long term.

I guess the question is: Will he keep it up all year, or is this a stand-out week because they're playing the Lions?
He's not going to get 10 grabs for 130 yards every week, but he's the best WR on the Raiders. If he stays healthy he should be good for 1100+ yards. Guy is a beast of an athlete (five star QB recruit out of high school, starting point guard for UNC). His value would be a lot higher if he hadn't had the injury problems. Saw this one coming from a mile away.

Sorry I misphrased. I'm not a Curry owner but would be interested in trying to "buy him high" from an owner thinking they are selling high. If he indeed is the real deal he could be a steal if you act quick.

The guy has two achilles in 2 years. Gotta be very careful with this guy. But I agree with all of the above, Curry is by far the best receiving target on the Raider's and should benefit from that as long as he stays healty.

Don't overrated his performance versus the Lion's though. The 2nd half was almost entirely short dumpoff passes and Curry was running a lot of underneath stuff. Curry still would have done well, but not 10/130/1 well.

He definately has elite WR skill and has shown it before but that isn't what you should be worry about. Be worried about him staying healthy as he has been battling significant injuries his whole career. Hopefully he'll stay healthy

10 catches on looks to be 12 targets. Not that bad. They worked out evenly also- 6 each half. He's not gonna have 10 catches every week but I will take half that number and a nice yards per reception average anyday.

 Been saying for months that this guy would be undervalued this year.I have him on every team in just about every format and after today I'm so glad I do........It's only one week, but hitting on guys like Curry are what make this hobby enjoyable for me........

Doesn't everyone have two?

You bought him likely as a WR4 or worse. I wouldn't take anything outside of Top 20 WR value for him, especially given Russell's not likely to see the field this year. The guy will be as consistent as they come, he just gets open.

Along with Curry, Lamont Jordan looked really good today. Kicking myself now for not grabbing with when given the chance as a RB3 or 4.

I had him benched as well. I started Lee Evans over him who got 5 freaken yards and zero points for my team.

I almost benched Evans because I hated his matchup vs. Denver and I was absolutely positive 2 players would go off for Oakland in fantasy football.

I just wasn't sure it would be Curry.

To answer your question.....Curry looked good. There were 2 people primarily involved in the passing game. Those two were Ronald Curry and Lamont Jordan.

I don't know how many times the Lions weren't going to cover Jordan underneath but they certainly couldn't hear me yelling at them thru the TV screen to do so.

As I mentioned in another thread, keep in mind this was against the Lions. Curry will be a hot pick up in your leagues if somehow he went undrafted.

I know it's early in the season, but I'm actually going to see if I can trade him to some team who struggled at WR this week. It's going to be a long year in Oakland this year. If you lose to Detroit at home, you have big problems.

Definitely the #1, but not many downfield targets. Man McCown loves to dump it off. He was great on his deep catch, got it despite an interference call on the D.

I really couldn't understand why Porter's ADP was higher than Curry's in preseason. If Curry remains healthy, he will be the #1.

Curry = Boldin

For those who don't know, that's about a perfect comparison. He is a stud athlete, just like Boldin.

i had the same problem... in fact - a thread on this very board is what inspired me to stick with lee evans...something about start your stud every week, even if he's being covered by champ bailey and curry is being covered by my dad...what nonsense i bought into...will be going with my gut from now on...they can save their historical data...on a side note: i still destroyed the person i was playing (Andre Johnson, Anotnio Gates - beat his whole team)oh and i got him as my siplimental player... meaning after the draft... we have 2 empty slots... we can fill these spots with free agents who weren't picked... but it cost us a free agent pickup if we do (all transactions cost $5 in this league)... most people just leave them empty.. i rolled the dice and picked up curry... am sure i wouldn't be getting him this week. so i'm glad i did that. might try and trade him and jordan for berrian and alexander (the guys a raiders fan)...

Exactly.. he is a huge sell high candidate. The Lions may have the worst CBs and Safeties of any NFL team over the past 5 years. The only thing that keeps teams from scoring 50 every week is that front 4 is nasty. They may have the best DL pair in the NFL with Rogers and Redding.Sell Curry now. He can't play the Lions every week.

Kiffen's offense looks 100 times better than what the Raiders put on the field last year. Curry was targeted often. Jordan looks like he'll be used in the passing game a lot.

Curry and Jordan will both benefit from a green QB in that system and a line that won't give the receivers time to run deep routes. I think both will get tons of dump offs and have great value in PPR leagues.

:goodposting: The Lions were able to get constant pressure on McCown which helped cover up the weakness of their secondary. The Raiders had to rely on screens and short stuff all day. That's great for Curry/Jordan owners in a PPR league, although the yards and TDs may come down against teams that aren't the Lions.
