Ronnie Brown Recovery Going Well (1 Viewer)

I have never heard about an unsuccessful surgery relating to an athlete, and it is extraordinarily rare to hear about a rehab that is anything but ahead of schedule.

Carlos Rogers is not having a good recovery from knee surgery. I also seem to recall problems with DeShaun Foster's recovery from knee surgery a few years back. There are other examples. Don't confuse the fact that we're dealing with young men in supremely good physical condition with the best that medicine has to offer with propaganda from teams.

While we're on the topic, let's name some recent cases where an ACL tear has derailed an NFL player's career. I'm seriously not trying to be a jerk...I simply cannot remember a player NOT recovering from an ACL tear in the recent NFL.B EdwardsWinslowJ WalkerPalmerMcNabbJam Lewis (2x)EdgeMcGaheeGallowayLee Evans

-Walker recovered fine from his ACL tear, he has other knee issues and *may* need microfracture surgery.-Culpepper didn't just tear his ACL, his knee injury was much more severe-Edge may have lost a little of his burst but he was still very productive-McNabb we'll see...ACL is nothing like it used to be 20 years ago.

I haven't confused anything. I didn't say he wouldn't recover, just that it is very rare to hear about a recovery not going swimmingly. It was the mention of Rogers on PFT that caused me to use the word "rare" instead of "never".

Ronnie Brown is one of the Five Great Mysteries of 2008 (as Randy Moss was in 2007), and will pose one of the most difficult questions fantasy owners will need form an opinion on prior to next year's draft. Four others:

-- what is the best combination of rookie RB and situation?

-- how will the Super Bowl loss/offseason/cheating scandal affect the Pats offense in 2008?

-- are Tomlinson and Gates on the downslope of their careers?

-- is it time to replace Moss/TO/Harrison/CJ/Holt/S.Smith with Wayne/Edwards/Fitz/Colston/Johnson/Marshall?

I'd really like to see him recover well. He was coming into his own very nicely last year despite being on a terrible team. I liked him best out of that draft class and he didn't disappoint, but that weird injury was almost heartbreaking.

 Walker had a 1000+ yard, 8 TD season the year following his ACL tear.Culpepper posted a horrible season BEFORE tearing his ACL. The guy threw 6 TD's vs 12 INT"s prior to the injury.Edge tore his ACL in '01. The guy was still a monster afterwards. He's had 1300 total yards in every season since.McNabb had his 3rd-best season ever (out of 9 seasons) with a QB rating 89.9. His TD/INT ratio was 19-7.

In my keeper i'll have to decide to keep either R. Brown or Turner and I'm sure it will be a hard choice given today's medicine and my love for MIA.
