Rookie RBs: Rank them for 2014 and beyond (1 Viewer)

I'm in a keeper league where we keep 2 Veterans and 1 Rookie each season. There are no penalties for keeping guys and you can keep Vets for as long as you want.

I've had Brees and Graham for the last 4 years. This year my rookie keeper is Le'Veon, and I have the 9th pick out of 10 this year. We start 2RB 2WR 1RB/WR/TE

As you can imagine, all the stud RBs will be long gone by the time it gets to me. I'm trying to figure out if any rookie is worth my 1st or 2nd pick in the draft.

Originally it looked like Sankey had the best chance of starting this year, but I've read some negative things lately. I would probably lean towards someone like Hyde for the future, but not sure how much he would help me this year.

Have also thought about just drafting WR with my 1st two picks, as there is a lot more talent left at WR as opposed to RB.

Thanks!

This probably belongs in the Assistant Coach forum since it's basically a "Who should I draft?"

That being said, Hyde has definitely overtaken Sankey as the #1 rookie RB in my book right now. I gave Sankey some benefit of the doubt based on his draft slot and opportunity, but he hasn't looked the part this preseason and there are many rookie backs who have shown me more. He is a non-factor for me at this point. I wouldn't go near him at his market value. Hyde may never be an elite pro, but he looks solid and his situation is very good. Think Bell/Lacy with a slight delay in time until impact. A year from now he could be very very valuable.

I like what I've seen from Andre Williams this preseason. He may not be a complete back and his durability seems suspect, but I think he's going to provide good value as a runner. Terrance West looks like he could be pretty solid. Mason has been a little inconsistent, but at least he looks athletic. Hill looks okay. I haven't had a chance to watch McKinnon yet this preseason, but the stats and the tea leaves have been positive. As a longshot, I'm intrigued by Chargers UDFA Branden Oliver and will be monitoring his performance closely tonight in what should be a lengthy audition for a roster spot.

Some Dynasty PPR Rankings (roughly; off the top of my head):

Hyde: Year one may not produce much, but best long-term situation.

Sankey: Has done nothing to impress me, but likely to be a starter sooner than the other rookies.

Hill: He is in the best immediate situation for some numbers, but being platooned with Gio caps his upside for the forseeable future.

West: Many predicted he would overtake Tate in preseason. That didn't happen. I still like his upside.

Freeman: Good situation behind an aging star, but not sure he is the long-term answer.

Mason: His deficiencies in pass pro plus the presence of Stacy will stunt his growth, but has elite athleticism.

Williams: His lack of receiving ability will make him a situational back.

White: Ridley's fumblitis could open the door to White, but long-term value may be limited.

Sims: Out for awhile, but the coaching staff is high on him.

McKinnon: Tremendous athleticism, and time to develop behind AP.

Carey: Volume runner who could develop behind Forte.

Seastrunk: Exciting runner, but needs to develop skills in the passing game, particularly in pass protection.
