Rookies - what now? (Now including all rounds!) (1 Viewer)

I stopped reading pretty early in this post. My take is it's a crap draft this year. You like it. That's great. Good luck.

This is just straight up disrespectful, when someone takes the time to try to discuss their opposing viewpoint with you. Now I do wish you'd leave the thread like you said you would, this type of post isn't productive.

I don’t know why people respond to milkman. Every post he makes is a straight up troll.

I rank the top RB’s just about the same as you. I may move Freeman ahead of Chubb, but that’s about it.

It’s a good year to be picking 1.04.

While I will likely change my mind about some of these guys as I have more time to think about it here is how I would stack the players right now.

I have him as the 2nd player of tier two.

I basically have a Calvin Ridley as a Mendoza line for tier two and I think I would draft him before I would draft Michel.

I could see both of these guys as in tier one I suppose but I don't see Ridley as having that upside. New England splits carries between a lot of RB which is a concern for the level of opportunity Michel might get.

I could definitely see him being tier one with the other guys, I just think I would draft Ridley ahead of him so thats where I slotted him.

No I specifically stated I wasn't really going to debate it. Some people value my opinion and some don't. That's fine.  One person respectfully asked for a little more info and I kindly elaborated another person attacked me and all i did was refuse to take the bait. I didn't even attack him back.

I wasn't trolling when I came in here I just thought I'd mention what I'm doing with my 1st round picks and people can ignore or use that info at their discretion.

It's a bad year imo to have a 1st round pick but I don't want to really sit here and argue with guys that have three or four 1st round picks. They are to emotionally invested. The truth is sometimes drafts are bad. This year looks like a bad year to me.
In leagues that value WR highly I'll agree (I'm in one, traded the 4 already) but in 2qb, superflex, or if RBs matter? I always like a well reasoned argument against what I think, or most people think, but I really don't see your reasons here.

I'd really like your rational thoughts.

The smartest people tend to avoid reading contrary opinions. Keep up the good work. We're all very impressed.

Not much of a change from the above list, just adding in the drafted players who were not selected yet at the time of previous list.

Interesting to have Lamar Jackson above other QBs drafted sooner, when he's sitting behind Flacco. I'd feel better about Bradford's or Taylor's back up.

I don't think the other guys are going to be rushing for 500+ yards when they do start like Jackson.

I do not see the Ravens doing what they did in the draft to just keep playing Flacco, although Harbaugh does make me wonder what is going to happen.

I have been pretty high on Jackson for a couple years now. The draft position would have moved me more if Jackson fell out of the first round. I personally think Jackson was the 3rd best NFL QB of this draft. For fantasy I don;t see the same upside from the other QB as I do with Jackson.

Not much love for Dante Pettis. An argument could be made for him as the highest ranking WR in rookie drafts.
Plenty of predraft love from Matt Waldman.  Maybe SF buys Waldman’s RSP.  In early consensus rookie rankings Pettis was outside third round, suspect he will get to early second.  Quite a huge jump.

This isn't much different than previous lists but I decided I would draft Chubb and Michel ahead of Lamar Jackson so moved them back to tier one ahead of him. Moved Moore ahead of Miller. Moved Gallup ahead of Gesicki and Sutton ahead of Pettis. I moved Ian Thomas up in tier 3. Even debated moving him to tier two but decided there were still three tier 3 guys I would take ahead of him. I dropped St Brown to tier 3 slotting him after Smith, Ballage and Hines. Moved Cain up slightly in tier 3 just after St Brown now, closer to DJ Chark now. I was missing Hamilton and Scott on the watch list.

I don't expect my list to change at all from this point except for slotting in the watch list players if/when I get around to watching those players.

Open to suggestions of UDFA to add to the watch list.

I'll trust John Schneider's track record over Dr. Dan from the FBG message boards. No offense to Dr. Dan, because I'll trust John Schneider's over my evaluations as well. Obviously no pick is infallible but at this point Penny is an NFL first round talent until proven otherwise.
Lets be more realistic.  Maybe 1/3 of first round selections will make the pro bowl.  And of those, some of them only have 1 good year or make it only because a lot of better players drop out. Plenty of first round picks never are special.

No I specifically stated I wasn't really going to debate it. Some people value my opinion and some don't. That's fine.  One person respectfully asked for a little more info and I kindly elaborated another person attacked me and all i did was refuse to take the bait. I didn't even attack him back.

(4) QB's drafted in the first 10 picks of NFL draft

(7) RB's drafted in the first 2 rounds of NFL draft into favorable situations.

(3) TE's drafted in the first 2 rounds of NFL draft

(8) WR's drafted in the first 2 rounds of NFL draft

This RB class is one of the strongest i've seen since doing dynasty FF 25 years ago.  2008 was the only one which i feel was stronger.

Well if you think prospects like Melvin Gordon are strong prospects we'll just have to agree to disagree. Admittedly he has produced well at times for FF but he's never been a good player. Just put in a great situation. Players like that are never on my team.

I know I said that the last version of my rankings would be my last one. Due to discussion about Mike Gesicki today and spending some more time watching him and just thinking about my definition of what the tiers mean, tier one means a player has top 12 upside at their position within the next 3 seasons, tier two means top 13-24 upside at their position within the next 3 seasons and tier three means top 25-36 upside at their position within the next three seasons. So by that definition I think Mike Gesicki should be ranked in teir one, and the better TE players I had in tier three should move up to tier two.

I just want to point out that even though I have a player ranked in a specific tier that does not mean I would draft that player ahead of lower tier players at other positions. I will consider ADP or the history of my league mates from past drafts in that decision as well, so in the case of Lamar Jackson and Mike Gesicki I still may wait until pick 12 or so before I draft them, even though I have them ranked higher than that on my list. For example I still will draft Ridley before Gesicki even though he is tier two and I would likely take Freeman and Johnson ahead of them as well. This somewhat depends on what other picks I have to work with though. If I have a later pick that I think I could still get Jackson with, then I might be willing to take that risk and hope he falls to my next pick. If I don't have a pick high enough then I will just draft him ahead of ADP over Ridley and the tier two RB. In the case of Mike Gesicki I do not care as much if I do not get to draft him. So I am more willing to draft him at ADP instead of earlier than that like I would with Jackson.

So with those things in mind the revised rankings
