Rotoworld reporting Chester Taylor is still limited (1 Viewer)

Yup he was limited still in practice. But the coach did say he is their starting RB when healthy(sorry forgot where I read that story). Only have the limited story.

For his sake, right? :mellow:I'm hoping that when he does get back he is used to wear out defenses during the first half and let AP take it to the bank in the second. Can you tell I own AP and not CT?

Ditto.. Rhodes started last year but Addai was the one to own. Let's hope for the same here. AP is currently 3rd overall in my league RB rankings.

The VIkings want to trade CT THIS SEASON AND they need him to play to showcase him and demonstrate he is healthy. A good analogy above is last years rhodes and addai. I just moved ADP for lendale and GATES bc i thought it helped my head to head team as I have PORTIS as my RB2 and although i love ADP he is limited by the horrible offense and play calling of the 07 VIKINGS. Next year if the qb can just keep them honest he is a top 3 pick in redrafts

Even if true, they don't need to showcase taylor - they just need to have him demonstrate he is healthy. That would be my take, at least. Once agian, when CT is back, it seems very likely he will get some touches, but 2/3+ should still go to AP, who has the talent to make those count big time.

I agree 2/3 to adp regardless of taylors health

Regarding source, direct from the horses mouth. DIRECT

Really not a big deal IMO regardless bc adp is a beast , they are concerned about his pass blocking BUT depending on who is qb more concerned. He seems to make a lot out of the passes he catches IMO

If taken literally, what you say makes a lot of sense, and should BOLSTER Peteron's value. If the goal is to trade CT, that means that trust Peterson to take the full load, and to do so this season.Again, they don't need to give CT 20 carries, or even 15 to show that he is healthy. His value, if healthy, is pretty set NFL wise. If a team needs a solid back that does everything pretty well, they trade him and Peterson has then Moore will take probably half of CTs load with Peterson getting the balance.

So...for sake of argument, let's assume that the Vikes DO want to trade CT this year.

Who would they target and what kind of role could he see? Would CT be a buy low option? Would thye plan on waiting for someone's #1 to go down or would they deal him as a #2? St Louis to cover for SJax and then back him up? Indy to back up Addai? Could New Orleans actually make sense to let Bush do what he does best? What would they get in return?

I'd be impressed to see the Vikes try to pull something like that off. In the Red/Tice era they wouldn't have even been able to think up something like that, much less pull it off.

I'll still put the chances in the 10% range despite the unnamed but super-good source. I don't think anything will happen but it's fun to think, "What if?".

Chances are he will bring back a pick in return. Can't see more than a 3rd rounder at best for him, if that.

Agreed. A 3rd round pick for him would be good value, esp., if it is from a bad team. Too bad the Vikes can't trade him to themselves!

Well im not worried about Taylor this week. Im worried about the GB Defense. IF he does play this week it wont be alot. He was sore after a full day of practice..

Is Childress just blowing smoke saying Taylor will be the starter??
No, he actually is quite stupid.
I was going to post in here that it would make sense to wait one more week on Chester, which given the Week 5 would be two extra weeks to heal. Then I realized who was involved with making the decision...
Yep, i hope they do risk it and play him..It would hurt Taylor more than AP's numbers.

Well, I'll use the term stubborn as some of these coaches will stick to their guns until their job security becomes an issue. I wouldnt be surprised to see Taylor listed as the starter in a number of games. This may not be a bad thing, Taylor is a fine stablemate for Peterson in the Viking backfield. 10-15 touches?- will reduce some of the workload on Peterson and as the season wears on will help keep Peterson fresh. Being a rookie and never having played a grueling 16 game season Peterson with a heavy workload will very likely tire over the last 3rd of the season. Its part of the process.

Well, there was the Browns trade of Charlie Frye to the Seahawks for a 6th round pick in Week 1.

And I believe the Seahawks traded Bryce Fisher to the Titans that same day.

As far as RBs being involved, I believe last season's Gado/Morency is the most recent in-season trade, but I could certainly be wrong. LINK

Please see my post above about the trade, I told you guys last week this was what the vikings were interested in
