Okay so on the Podcasts this week Bloom and Matt talked about how they didn't really like anyone on the Redskins offense except maybe Fred Davis. Yet both Bloom and Dodds have Helu ranked in their top 20 this week. What gives?

I guess they are banking on Helu getting the touches/looks this week but after that it could be choice or Torain depending on Shannahan's mood

Yes, but I think the poster's point is how can you sayou you do not like someone this week if you have them ranked in the top 20, it contradicts itself.

Because Helu probably only lasts a few weeks until Torain is rested and then Shannihan will switch up again. And then depending on how Torain holds up, will switch again. Its hard to say who the bell cow will be one week to the next because Shannihan likes to ride a RB for a game, but is trying to not keep getting his RBs injured.

He is to RBs what Martz is to QBs. Except Shannihan recognizes that and is trying not to get them injured.

Two possibilities: either he has, what they feel is, a good match-up this particular week or they just think all of the RB listed below Helu are worse than him. I did not listen to the podcast but did they say they don't trust him for this week, or overall; if the sentiment is overall than I can agree. I still have Torain stinking up my bench after I was so clever and managed to pluck him off the WW in all my leagues; very frustrating. If Helu is as up-and-down as Torain he'll cost you as many games as he will help you; that is where I think Bloom and others are leaning. Do you see Helu as so much better than Torain that he corrects the Redskins running problems of the past month?

I don't love Helu in any week because it's hard to predict garbage time. Helu had 14 receptions last week so off of that performance, I think he's a decent RB2 or flex start in PPR leagues. Torain, I don't think you can start him, even if you're desperate. I would start guys like Kendall Hunter in SF and Maurice Morris in Detroit before I'd start him. He's put up absolutely nothing since his breakout game in St. Louis, a team that allowed D. Murray 250 plus yards, so outside of that surprise performance Torain has been a bum. Add T. Choice into this mix, Torain is droppable in most formats as far as I'm concerned. He's not used in the passing game whatsoever and the Redskins are always behind, he's a terrible start.I don't think anyone corrects the Redskins running problems because it's not just on the RB's, they have other problems that are causing the running game to be horrible. They need a QB who can throw and some receivers who can stretch the field. They have nothing, which is what you'll get from Torain.

I couldn't agree you more and with the Redskin's offensive problems; I think that even F. Davis output is effected enough to make him a risky start. Torain remains on my bench because M. Bush and D. Moore blew up and makes the need for me to use my last move (to replace Austin) not as expedient. In my other league I did miss out on dropping Torain for D. Moore this week because I didn't do my due diligence :wall: .

Torain has had his shot this year and, minus the rams game, has been atrocious. It is now helu's job to lose. In a ppr this fella has solid garbage time potential. 4-6 catches a game due to torain's inability on 3rd downs. Choice may put himself in the mix here pretty quickly as well but I would not at all be surprised if helu scores double digit points on a weekly basis the rest of the way. Flex worthy for sheezy.

My point was they were low on all skins on the podcasts yet ranked Helu as a top 20 back. I'm not sure where I go with this. They like him over guys like Lynch and even Mendy (Dodds) does. They are hitting on RBs though. Bloom said to start Lynch last week when all other experts and him ranked outside the top 30.

I love the guy. I took him where I could in every rookie draft this year. I think he will turn into a game breaker next year. He reminds me of a poor man's Ray Rice, but maybe faster. He is picking up the pass protection, is natural with his hands and can break the big one at any time. He just hasn't done that. Yet. I got him in the lineup in about half my leagues last week and is starting in all of them this week. Yes, I am choking on the Kool-Aid :banned:

Top 5 back in Houston LOL...im kidding ...I honestly think hes a purely a zone blocking scheme type of guy . Not sure what Washington runs, if they do he could have a bright future. I dont think hes in the top 20 from a talent or instincts standpoint though
