Roy Williams (1 Viewer)

Anybody know what's going on? Is it just the emergence of the running game? Other WRs stepping up? Is it time to panic on Roy yet, or hold tight? I've got an itchy mouse finger, and it's hovering over BENCH! ;)

One thing about Roy: he's been inconsistent his entire football career.

That was one of the knocks against him coming out. He'll make some brilliant plays and dominate. Then he'll disappear for long stretches of time.

I'm sure he'll bounce back. He's the type of WR who can put up 150 yards and 2 TDs like it's nothing.

Kitna isn't having quite the season I thought he'd have either. The more fantasy football seasons that go by I believe more and more that the draft is all luck. I picked first overall in a 14 team league. On my team I've got the likes of LT, Wayne, R. Williams, S. Holmes, F Taylor, J. Garcia, B. Marshall and I'm 5-4. These guys just aren't getting in the endzone enough. I guess I should have drafted A. Peterson #1 overall or T. Brady. All that #### about holding off on a QB for the value pick is hogwash. From now on I'm taking the best player available regardless of position.

It is luck. It isn't entirely luck, however. You have to admit this season is abnormal. There have been so many major injuries and busts. I do agree about taking the best player available, however...to a degree.

Karma's just kicking Roy Williams' butt because he's too cheap to tip the pizza guy.

The Lions spread the ball around now. No need to lock in on any WR.

It is because of Roy and CJ that everybody is open. They are some dam good paid decoys.

From what little Lions action I've seen, it appeared Kitna is throwing a lot of short routes (KJ, Furrey, McDonald) and not going downfield (presumably Roy & CJ) very regularly. But I haven't seen much, so maybe it's just perception.

On pace for 1100+ yards and 6TDs, what a bum.
Weeks 1-36.7/112/1 per game (on pace for 107/1787/16)Weeks 4-94.6/46.6/0 per game (on pace for 74/746/0)Kitna shows similar splits.Weeks 1-4 (I included O'Sullivan's numbers from when he filled in for an injured Kitna)344 yards and 2 TDs per gameWeeks 5-9193 yards and .5 TDs per game (including three straight weeks without a score). You don't see any cause for concern here?

I think this is part of it, but Kitna just isn't having the year most expected. Not even that, he's fallen far short of expectations. They spread the ball reasonably, but Kitna just isn't playing all that great. It's more the D and KJ (lately) thats been winning them games

No I am not concerned, not at all actually. Most players will go through some slow stretches in a season. The offense has run more than usual due to playing teams who have difficulty stopping the run, and I fully expect that R.W. will still end up with stats in the 1200 yrds and 8-10 scores category. All it takes is 1 big game to right this ship. He is fully capable of HUGE ones.

A few things have lead to Roy's declining numbers:

#1 - the return of KEvin Jones

#2 - A marinelli mandate to martz to run the ball more to help win games and keep the Lions D fresh

#3 - Double coverage

#4 - McDonald and Furrey are often open and guess what open players get the ball

I agree aobut the luck part, but if you picked up let's say a Westbrook in the first round maybe a Marshawn in the 2nd, then managed to land a Big Ben or a Favre later on in the draft, you're not doing too bad this year, so it's all relative I suppose.

I didn't call him a bum, but he's been pretty disappointing since week 3, and that's in a PPR league. I was hoping he would be an every week starter for me, and I'm wondering if I should be watching matchups instead of making him an automatic start every week.

Its this damn shocking Lions D.

Look at the game that D didnt show up, the Philly game and look what Roy did when they were playing catch up all day.
