RT Sebastian Vollmer (1 Viewer)

Good to see...their O line stays intact so now they can concentrate on getting that D (especially the pass rush) squared away as well as filling out the WR unit...would really like to see one out of the Abraham/Elvis/Freeney come on-board as well as adding another D lineman with their first round pick...

I'd love to see an impactful edge rusher also but do they really have the room anymore?I heard on local sports radio this week that they had about 9 mil left under the cap. I haven't seen details of the Vollmer deal but would have to assume it's in 4 mil range. That leaves about 5 mil... plus with money needed to sign rookies and wr fill-ins... it doesn't seem like they much left for any of the above mentioned guys.Sounds like they're going to have to get creative if they do.

Reports I read this week had the number closer to 15 mil under. Plenty of space.$15 mil here

I like the Volmer signing and I have to assume\hope they put some significant things\incentives in there to protect themselves if he has injury issues and can't play.

I've heard different numbers so not sure what the actual amount of cap space is...my guess is it's not enough to get someone like Elvis (a moot point now) but more than enough to get a veteran like Abraham...right now they only have five picks in the draft (with two being #7's) so they don't need a ton allocated there...will be very interesting to see what that WR group looks like when the smoke clears...

Contract details:

3/24/2013: Signed a four-year, $17 million contract. The deal contains $8.25 million guaranteed, including a $7 million signing bonus. Another $9 million is available through incentives based on playing time and Pro Bowl berths.

Never would have guess that the total of Welker's, Talib's and Vollmer's contracts would add up to a total of 34 million (or right in that ballpark depending on incentives) over seven years...

Pats probably have about 10m left after vollmer with maybe 3m fanene cap coming to them.

Rookies are negligible.
