Rudi Johnson a buy low? (1 Viewer)

Agreed that Rudi's a great player to have. But "buy low" suggests you'll be getting him cheap. Rudi doesn't fall to the mid-to-late second round in redrafts. In dynasty, I don't think he's someone you could get cheaply. He's consistently in the RB7-11 range. He's above Corey Dillon and Marion Barber but below SJax and Gore so far. The thing is, everyone knows about what his value is, 1500 and 12 TDs. Yes, that's great for an RB in FF in this day of RBBC, but he's not a "buy low" because his price is fairly concrete. Not many Rudi owners are looking to move him for an unproven "upside" guy.
In my dynasty league, guys who own lesser rated young RBs wont even consider a trade for Rudi.

I don't get it.I traded Rudi once before (before last year) and then I did what I had to do to get him back......I don't know how good or valuable he is until you get rid of him.

FBG Staff rank him 8th
This is around where I have him ranked. He's durable and is NOT part of a RBBC,which is getting more & more popular in todays NFL.Dude puts up solid numbers year in and year out.I don't consider him a "Buy Low" candidate, but if others see him as a "sell low",then I would jump at Rudi. :wall:

If anyone wants to sell, you should consider. At the beginning of the year, I dealt Dominic Rhodes & Joey Galloway for Rudi & Stallworth.

Point is, if you own him, don't sell him unless someone else happens to see his value. Otherwise, wait till he's in the top 5 in yards before making a move.

all i know is, i made the STUPID mistake of taking Caddy over Rudi in a new dynasty league last year. Never draft a player you think has the potential for 1800-2000 yards when you've got a guy that consistently produces 1500 and 10-12 TDs. DOH. :lmao:
