Rudi Johnson/DeAngelo Williams (1 Viewer)

Which of these two RB's do you think holds more dynasty value? No one really knows what Rudi can do after last year's injury but he's probably not going to return back to prior form. How many years do you think he has left?

For D Williams, his value kind of took a hit with the drafting of Stewart who might be more talented. DWill is stuck in Carolina until 2010 unless a trade happens.

But for this year, it seems like DWill might be the safer pick than Rudi. I don't see Stewart getting the majority of the carries being the primary kick returner for CAR. Not sure if he's getting the punt return duties either. Chris Gamble the PR?

Where do you have Rudi and DWill ranked on your RB lists-dynasty value wise?

They are pretty close, but if its not a guy you'll have to count on(I hope it isn't anyway) than I think I'd take Williams.

ETA: They are both in the 30-40 range for me.

Punt returns will more than likely be handled by Ryne Robinson.

Neither. I'm just trying to see what people think. It's not so clear-cut though. A good example would be TJ Duckett/Jamal Lewis after the 2004 season. Look how that turned out.

Well both Rudi/D Williams will probably be available at the #80/81 pick in an initial startup dynasty and I'm thinking of snagging both. That just screams VALUE. They would be my RB3/RB4 in a 16 team league.

Just find it odd to be comparing these 2 as they have virtually nothing in common. Guess you're trying to decide which to draft?

I like the question, since I have both guys in a dynasty league along with Lynch (Deuce and Irons, Sigh). Not surprisingly with that bunch, I have the second rookie pick. My hope is #1 goes McFadden, so I can take Stewart and at least have whichever guy gets the bulk for CAR. I think that's a more open question than most for '08, in light of Fox' apparent loyalty to incumbents (which might have been partially preference of RB, although that's hard to believe unless DWill's blocking was incredibly awful). The reports on Rudi so far are all glowing, but the 2.9 YPC is hard to ignore even with the line issues. I wouldn't draft either DWill or Rudi as anything but a RB4 in dynasty, although either COULD play at a RB2 level this year. DWill would seem to have the far better future value ... that being little over none.

Rudi has never been that good and he'll turn 29 this season. I just don't see him having much value beyond 2008 or 2009 at the latest. Guys like Jamal Lewis and Fred Taylor were much better than Rudi in their prime. He's closer to someone like Antowain Smith.

To say that "Rudy has never been that good" is just crazy. Three straight years as a top 10 rb isn't good? Hum, ok...

287 1157 12

300 1124 8

252 982 6

These would be the 3 best years of Antowain Smith, only one of which is "close" to Rudy's best years.

Williams does have more dynasty value, but I would rather than Rudi this year in a redraft. Looks like he is going to be featured in Cincy and should rebound, whereas Williams will be outshone by Stewart in Carolina.

Go with the starter in Rudi. Sorry but Stewart is gonna be a beast this year. OROY and it won't even be close.
