Per az sportstalk this afternoon, all but a done deal, checking in with my cards contacts tomorrow

Seemed pretty obvious with 'Zona ignoring QB at the draft despite having one of the more easily defined needs.

I dont see it happenming. The reason being is what would the Eagles get in return? A first round pick next year? Then why not just hold onto Kolb and trade him for the pick after the season ends. Im sure the Eagles would take Peterson, and im also sure the Cardinals wouldnt take Kolb for Peterson.

I bet Kolb remains an Eagle this season.

Trade him after his contract expires?I don't think you can say franchise him first and then trade him either, since the franchise tag would pay him over 20 Million for the season. Kolb cannot command that kind of money.

I didn't know his contact was up after the season. Youre right, no way they franchise him. Kind of puts the Eagles in a tough spot.

Kolb is a FA after this season. Philly can't wait. He WILL be moved.

Might be why Whiz apparently had a smirk on his face when questioned about whether Bulger and Zona had an agreement in place.. it would make sense

LHUCKS would also like to break the following story:

According to his sources, Osama bin Laden is dead.

Wait I thought the rumor was that ARZ had a Handshake deal with Bulgar, so he was going to be the guy there?

I prefer the Bulger move for Arizona. I think the Kolb trade will not help this team and that 1st could be top 5 again next year. Go with Bulger and let Skelton learn more. IN fact I think Skelton could be a better long term answer than Kolb in the end. Just not impressed with what I have seen from him.

Thanks for the heads up, G-King!
:goodposting: G-King iswill be THE go to source for anything Eagles Cards Kevin Kolb related.
Slightly adjusted your post. :bye:
Slightly adjusted your post.
:goodposting: Was about to make the same correction. At least I got the jump on Maclin's rise last year due to G-King's comments. Since I don't plan on hanging out in any AZ threads, I guess my inside track is over.

I don't have details
See, that's what bothers some folks. You have a rumor thread. Ok, I'll bite. But no details and you use a subtitle of "done deal". That's horse##it. "A friend of a friend of a great aunt who is friends with the ownners 2nd wife removed told me...."

Tough crowd here. Kolb was the first QB in NFL history to throw for 300 yards in his first two starts. That's impressive.

Dont agree with this at all. Bulger is old and damaged goods. He hasnt been right for four years. Arizona made the right picks at all glaring holes except QB in the draft. Az now have three talented rbs (I know some will argue wells and hightower have their issues but the depth is there now), Fitz is a stud and the supporting cast is solid. They drafted a large, athletic TE which should open up things a bit for the passing game. Peterson is an immediate upgrade on D. They got some LB help to go with Washington from last year. If they land a qb, I see no possible way they are looking at a top 5 pick in 2012. I think seattle is the bottom of the NFC west, with AZ SF and Stl fighting for the top spot. Kolb would be a massive upgrade over anyone rostered in 2010. He can deliver the ball to fitz (finally) and the rest of the team.

In 2010, Kolb started 4 games (I don't count the week 1 injury or the week 17 starter-depleted lineup): Weeks 4 through 7. Kolb had a HUGE game against the Falcons, but was very pedestrian in the other starts, only throwing 1 TD in each contest and only once breaking 250 yards.I tend to agree with the OP in regards to Kolb's talent level... although I disagree with the premise that Bulger is a better option at this point. The Cardinals need to make this move... they have the ability to win now in a weak division, and they have to keep Fitz happy. I guess I am tempering my enthusiasm at this point from Kolb's 2011 fantasy outlook.Since we don't know details of this impending move, it's fun to speculate.... maybe Kolb to AZ for the 2012 1st and Beanie Wells? PHI seems to love that 2nd power back, and Beanie could be a nice complimentary back to Shady.

If they score a 1st AND beanie thats robbery.

No way Arizona would give a #1 and Beannie.

I think everyone is jumping off the Beannie bankwagon alittle early. I know Williams has alot of talent but they can work together.

If any rb is going somewhere it is Hightower. He is cheaper (which makes him more attractive to other teams) very versitile, and I think he has wore out his welcome due to his fumbles.

I think Beannie and Williams could be a great 1-2 punch.

PS: I would put Arizona as the favorite in the NFC West if this trade went through. (BIG TIME RAMS FAN)

I wouldn't be surprised if they nab Bulger and Kolb. Bulger is no longer starting material, but he would make a good backup. The other guys they have are not even worth having at backup.

The eagles don't want beanie. They have a stud in McCoy and drafted dion Lewis to take some of the load off of McCoy in relief. If anything it would be for 2012 first rounder and a player (most likely a db).

surely not pat pete and a 3 or 4 right? I would hope not but a buddy of mine (serious Eagles homer) was talking seriously about it and I'm really hoping he's wrong cause I can't stand it when he's right.
