Russell Wilson week 14 - Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

Another plus in Wilson's favor: I wouldn't expect the JAX offense to do a heck of a lot against the SEA D.

Implication: More offensive possessions, higher floor.

Now that T. Taylor is hurt (and I don't think I could actually play a McCown or Jimmy G over him) pretty sure I'm rolling with Wilson.

O/U on this game currently at 39.5.....lowest of the week.   Betting guys don’t think there will be a ton of touchdowns going around.

Jags -3

Projected 21-18

Thats still 2 seattle tds (unless they kick 6 FGS)

Russ scores ALL of settles TDS, Literally

I would argue that this will be a fast game, Jax will run a lot and slow the game. If it's low scoring, this hurts Wilson who tends to score lots of 2nd half points.

This has been true but I bet Mike Davis starts to cut into this a bit. JAX rush D (11th) is their weakness if they have one.

I have Marriotta on my bench, so it's obviously an easy decision. That said, I'd only be benching him for Wentz and Brady.

Looking at FBGs SOS, JAX ranks #1 against QBs. That's not good.

However, if you look at the QBs JAX has faced it's a complete horror show. Starting with the most recent:

J. Brissett (Mr get sacked)

B. Gabbert (not bad 22-38-241-2-1)

D. Kizer (turnover machine)

P. Rivers

A. Dalton (O line still playing horribly)

J. Brissett (See above)

J. Goff

Big Ben (5 INT game; This offense wasn't right earlier)

J. McCown (Not yet rolling)

R. Mallett/J. Flacco (Flacco hurt)

M. Mariota (bust)

D. Watson/T. Savage (Watson's first game on the scene)

Rivers did alright: 21-37-235-2-1 recently. The one effort that does look impressive was against Goff where he did absolutely nothing (although he seems to perform as the matchup goes).

I don't know. I'm not that scared as a Wilson owner.

This is an excellent, thoughtful post

This is a tipping point post in favor of starting for me. Nice job. I wanted to start him but have been waffling a bit. It's go time. Live or die with your guy.

REALLY terrible offensive line
At that start of the year I would have agreed with you, but now? Not so much. The addition of Brown and a few other changes have made a big difference. Hurries and sacks are down significantly over the past few weeks.

We'll see.

I have Wilson in my starting lineup, but I'm still tempted to go after McCown tonight in waivers.

I see floor with Wilson, but maybe not ceiling.

Indeed, now we know what Brown can do for you!

But honestly, what's his floor? 210 + 25 yards rushing and either 1 TD pass or rush. You can certainly do worse and his ceiling to me is unknown. He's playing at a MVP level right now.

Torn between Wilson @Jax vs Goff home vs Philly.  Anyone have an O/U on the Eagles/Rams?
WOW..normally that is a great choice to have.  LA will have to throw, we know that....then again, the hawks score 99% (exaggerated) of their points by the pass.......

Yeah, FBGs still has Wilson projected a couple points higher but jeez, 2 rough matchups.

Just heard on a football podcast that the Eagles D has been #1 against the pass the last 6 weeks. That's with teams passing a lot on them since they have had big leads most of those games.
I think you need to look closer at things like this...seahawks scored on them, the other opponents were a wounded dallas, denver, bears, and 49ers without garopollo...before that washington hit em for 24pts....

Sure that's a factor. I'd have to see the Jags opponents over the same time.

I didn't sit my stud. I wish it mattered though. Thanks Sterling, Mike Evans, Cincy D, and Bailey ( 2 missed 50s)  :wall:
