Ryan Torain Value (1 Viewer)

I just put a waiver claim in for him. I have the 3rd pick this week. I also have THT as my rb2, so hopefully my claim goes through.

Think holding him is the best move. I have him in 2 leagues picked him up after I heard Shanahan said he was gonna bench him Hightower last week. Shanahan always has great things to say about Torain.

He had some good value last year in the games he played. Had some injurys but still some great WW rb production. WW rbs are always great finds.

I dont really see you getting too much value. Most people are aware of the skins rb situation. I would let it ride and hope you caught a WW gem.

Depends on your league settings and roster etc.

I think Torrain's value is same as THT's was going into week1. Advised to stay away because of Shanny & there are 3 RBs that are similar in talent and some with injury history. Short Lived and RBBBC.

I would not not drop Daniel Thomas for him. Other owners saying I declined a trade I can get more aren't in your league w/ your roster.

If you can swap RBs in a trade for a RB that might be consistent w/ upside and less injury risk I'd look there.

Mathews? Ingram? I don't know about Grant deal. Starks is better but Grant pushing back. AT least there are only 2 RBs in that fold...Green is 3rd and not seeing touches of Helu.

If you've got a replacement and can upgrade a roster spot do it. Even if Torrain goes off for 4 games...he could be gone and worthless when you're making a playoff push.

I just got an offer of Joe Addai for him straight up. Declined.
You have Helu? If so, I would decline also.
No Helu or TMHGHTWR.
Then you are rolling the dice and making use of Torain for however long it may last. Not only can you not trust Shanny, but Torains durabilty history is pretty notable.
Let's not make this about my team. I'll say in general that if Torain isn't going to be a starter for you nor is a handcuff in any way, it's probably best to let him rot on your bench unless a great offer comes along. It would be terrible for an opponent to get ahold of him at a reasonable price only for him to kill you later.

Torain or Ridley as the #1 waiver pick in redraft?
Is anyone else on this forum getting tired of AC questions in this forum?
About as tired as "I just got an offer of Joe Addai for him straight up. Declined."
Not remotely close and you know this.
They're the same. Comparing two players' values going forward. Just change the wording, or phrasing. Say, "I just got an offer of Stevan Ridley for him straight up. Declined."

I'm curious as to which of the two (Torain or Ridley) has more value going forward. Both are on teams with other options at RB and coaches who give no indication how they will be used week to week.

No. You are asking AC questions, asking for help. Where do you see me asking for help? Nowhere.

As a Hightower owner, I'm unsure whether I should drop Shonn Greene and pick up Torain.....any advice for me?

Bad call in my opinion. Addai has better durability (how many RBs can we say that about) then Torain and is the unquestioned #1 in Indy unlike Torain who could very well be Shanahan's flavor of the month. The Colts' running game has actually looked quite a bit better this year too.

I'll disagree here. I'd much prefer a short hot streak by Torain to Addai's mediocre numbers for the season. Not to mention, Addai isn't really known for his durability. Pretty sure Shanny has never benched Torain for anything but an injury.

I see the Terrel Davis, Rueben Droughns type runner Shanny likes. was Shanny the one that drafted him? Edit: yes he was

but ya not sure I'd drop a starter for him, def a back up.

you can't predict injury, grab this guy
Think he's more valuable than a guy in a timeshare - like Grant?
Grant is #1 now. He is definitely more valuable than a backup like Starks though.
:fishing:
Bump this in December. ;)
So you meant to say Grant is #1 in December?
No, I meant to say Grant is #1 going forward, and if you really want to throw :fishing: at me, then bump this in December and we'll see who was right.EDIT: Hopefully it is obvious that I'm talking #1 on Green Bay, and not #1 in the league or something like that.

Hey man, I'm just trying to figure out what the hell you mean. So next week when Starks has better numbers than Grant, do you want to push back the statement a week?

I will eat crow if Starks ever out-performs Grant again this year (barring injury). I'm saying (and I mean it) Grant is much better than Starks and that will be apparent from here on out.

Just paid half of my remaining BB money and dumped DWill to the wire for Torain (we have very short benches). I'm all in with this guy.

I owned him when he was in DEN (got a half game out of him before he was injured) and owned him last year for a very productive stretch. I'm not expecting miracles but my eyes don't lie. He's a much more talented runner than either Hightower or Helu. As long as he's healthy (and it could be a few games or several - at some point he will get hurt due to his punishing and upright running style) he will get the bulk of the carries. More importantly - he'll be productive with his chances. RatFace sees what the rest us should as well - Torain is the best RB on the team.

I have Addai and Torain and there's no question I'd rather have Torain going forward. Part of it is that I'm in a 10 team league so each player has to average higher than 10 per game. Torain can do that. Addai? The upside just is NOT there. Addai is steady mediocrity. I had Torain last year and while healthy he is NOT mediocre.

What you're doing is far worse than what you're attempting to police. Give it up and let the mods do their job.

I don't think you can overlook the fact that Torain seems to be a favorite of Shanahan, and is coming off a huge week. When he has played, the guy has given owners solid RB2 and borderline RB1 numbers. For a waiver wire pickup, you can't ask for anything more. I think he will be more valuable to fantasy owners this year than Ridley will be. Not that he is a better runner, but his situation is much better.
