Sabby Piscitelli - what is the deal? (1 Viewer)

Sabby had a horrible NFL game being burn several times...BUT fantasy wise he was great...

Is he startable in the coming weeks or will the coaching staff pull the plug on him?

Piscitelli would be the odd man out if Geno Hayes plays well enough to force the coaching staff to reconsider moving Phillips back to WLB. Coaching comments will be telling as we approach Tanard Jackson's reinstatement.

So what is the situation as it stands? Is Hayes playing the WLB, and Phillips at safety? Anyone have a thought as to what happens when Jackson returns? Is Sabby out and the safeties are Phillips and Jackson? And when does Jackson return? If Phillips is on the WW as a DB, is he a DB1 or 2 worth picking up? Thanks.

Bump. Some good questions here IMO...as a teetering Sabby owner....

No new information here.

Jackson will miss the first four games. Hayes has to prove he's a better option than Phillips at WLB and the team is better off with him at WLB than Piscitelli at SS (assuming Jackson is still considered a better option at FS).

I don't think we'll get any specific indication from the coaches until after Week 3, but it's worth watching the press conference comments for notes on Hayes' play.

Rumored (according to St.Petersburg Times) that Phillips has a broken thumb and gone 6-8 weeks. Makes a muddled situation that much more so.

Sabby looked good, but I wonder about him in run support. With Jermaine out, I'm thinking a bad run dst just got worse... Start your RBs against TB. I thought they could bottle up Buff this week and outscore for the win, but the defense couldn't stop anything, really. I'm thinking with the Bucs' sched, it is going to be a long season...

How do you guys feel about Sabby now, as compared to say, Adrian Wilson, for this week and long term?

What is up with 1 tackle in week 5?
Not that many tackle opportunities (41), front seven had most of the solos on run plays, Tampa tried to play a lot of two deep coverage early without success and Will Allen rotated in for a few snaps.I only rarely saw Allen on the field, so I don't think he'll be a major issue moving forward. Likely just a flukish week for Piscitelli.
