Only reason that Jackson is the backup is that Childress is too stubborn to admit he made a mistaske in drafting Jackson. The fantasy impact is that should Favre ever go down (never happened but this could be the year that the old man misses some games)Rosenfels can get the ball to the Viking recievers and Jackson can't. I'm sure there will be comments how how awful Rosenfels but he's a huge improvement over Jackson. Look for Rosenfels and his 2.6 million salary to be traded or released. Childress doesn't want to put rookie QB Joe Webb on the practice squad as he is concerned that some team will pick him up when he goes thru waivers before being sent to the practice squad.

Besides, maybe Jackson is the #2 QB so that he can be used in wildcat situations? (Rosenfels would be the inactive emergency QB).

You are right on... Sage is the better QB, but Chilly is a stubborn coach... Even his players say it's gotta be "his way". Chilly has some manlove for Tjax and won't admit he made a mistake drafting him. Sage is by far better. Two years ago the vikes relied on Tjax and he was terrible. They had to put Gus in and they made the playoffs... then stubborn Chilly started Tjax in the playoffs and that's all she wrote that year. He may be marginally better than 2 years ago, but Sage is finally comfortable with this system and is by far better than Tjax. The local beat writers can all see it as well. When asked if Sage has a chance to supplant Tjax as the #2, Chilly said that would be pretty difficult... something along those lines... I don't have the exact quote. Has Tjax ever had a 300 yard game with 3 TD's.... Sage did that this preseason, and yes it was preseason against backups... but he was also throwing to backups and playing with backups.

Lol I met Rosenfels in the Orlando airport last year and he was nice. He was glad to be noticed though I'm not sure how he was ID' ed in the first place; the only reason I knew was because another onlooker told me.
