What do you think the reaction would be if it had been a white guy shoving a black girl out of the way to rip a ball intended for her away from her?

Yes, I played the race card.
Now that's just the idiot card. Get with it.
Bull####. That was the first thing I thought.
If the shoe fits...
I believe that had it been a white guy shoving a black chick out of the way and snagging the ball, there would be big time race call-outs and aside from me thinking the guy was a #### for doing that regardless of race, the next thought that came to my mind was "I can just imagine if that guy was white and the girl black". Just me thinking out loud about a micro event as compared to society as a whole. Probably wrong place. My bad.

Girl should've pretended to get hurt. He was pretty forceful and could've hurt her.
Pretend? Yeah that's gonna make her as bad as him. He looks bad enough as it is after what he did. No need to potentially get the guy charged and ruin his life.

A two page thread over a fan taking a ball from a visiting fan? Shoot I wouldnt let any Bengals fan be happy in my house if they were kicking our butt either. So many people and their morals in sports.

He didnt punch her or hurt her, he said "Oh heck no, you aint getting that ball in our home, no celebration for you."

Why is everyone so sensitive like their are rules for everything in life?
It didn't seem to me that he was saying anything other than "I'm a selfish jerk". The ball was clearly being given to the lady and he snatched it away. That makes him a doosh in my book.
One way to look at it, but I forget in the rule book of life rule 126 says: A person must let a fan inside your stadium get the ball that the rival team is trying to give to them as a celebration. In no way should a fan defend its home by not allowing a team to showboat in your house of fandom by taunting by going up to the crowd and rubbing it in.

The woman who ripped the ball from a kid is a different story. Children are seriously the one person you cant rip a ball from.
:lmao: "A fan defending its home"

Pretty sure if it was a black lady vs a white man that particular white man would have gotten the ever-loving crap beaten out of him. That said, I can't believe this thread has reached three pages. She wasn't even that cute.

This won't go viral, but Christa Barrett (the Bengals fan) and Tony Williams (the Saints fan) buried the hachet over beignets at City Park:

NEW ORLEANS -- It's a story that was viewed online by 11.5 million people. But now the two strangers involved in the controversial football catch at Sunday's Saints game talk for the first time in an emotional meeting, hoping their 15 minutes of social media fame ends before the Monday night game.It was the football catch talked about on television, radio and social media around the world. Two regular, unknown fans, instantly thrust into the limelight. A Kentucky woman and Bengals fan, who just moved to New Orleans, and the former Zulu king and Saints ticket holder from the beginning were pitted against each other in the end zone, then for days on the Internet.

Tony Williams and his wife Minnie asked us if we could find Christa Barrett. They wanted to meet her.

She jumped at the opportunity. Morning Call in City Park was the spot. There were instant hugs and tears.

Don't forget the handy-abled, or how about a 13 year old "child" who weights 200 lbs ripping it from a 90 year old grandma who weighs 80 lbs. Form a morale standpoint the action is not defensible and your fluttered version of morality shows the forethought of a hamster. How about the golden rule? Do unto others. I am sure nobody would want to get treated that way at any age.

The resolution of this gives at least a little bit of hope for humanity. Fans, and players too, need to look at the ways that sports can dehumanize others and encourage pathological behavior in stadiums and on the field. Sports can also be a humanizing force, allowing us to recognize that in the end we're all people, rooting for a bunch of guys who we don't know, have never met, and who next year are just as likely to be wearing different laundry. Have fun with it but don't forget that the whole thing is inherently silly.

So the Saints fan, a former King of Zulu (All Hail!) takes the wronged Bungles fan out for beignets and cafe au lait, and welcomes her into the warm folds of our loving city.

(Have no fear she will be a Saints fan soon enough.... it's a short trip from WhoDey to the original WhoDat, darlin')...

But do you think this snippet of peace, love, understanding will get the same national coverage? Nah.

What I learned from that story is that she's a class act, and he's still an ###.
