Saints: New Greatest show on turf? (1 Viewer)

Fair & Balanced
My feeling is that the Saints will be one of the highest scoring teams in the NFL again.

The 2007 version of the 99-2000 Rams.

The weapons are there, the play calling is very agressive and they have all the players to make it work.

Losing Joe Horn will not hurt them.

With Colston/Copper/Henderson they are very young, and very solid at WR.

Brees spreads it around better than any QB in the NFL. Toss in the Buch/Duece combo with one of the best blocking FBs in the league and this is a juggernaut.

I'd say they need an elite level talent at WR and/or at least another WR who is very good the be WR2 to match the Rams of old. Colston is good, but I would not put him in elite class. Henderson/Cooper are decent, but again I think they are a sever down grade from Bruce or Holt. They will be fun to watch, no doubt. They will score a lot of points too. I just can't put then in that class yet.

Not very close.

The 1999-2000 Rams averaged 533 points and 6987 yards. The 2006 Saints scored 413 points and had 6387 yards. In other words, the 1999/2000 Rams outscored the 2006 Saints by more points than the 2006 Saints outscored the 2006 49ers.

A large part of that is because the Rams were a significantly better rushing team, averaging over a full yards per carry more than last year's Saints.

I agree, but Bush seemed to be getting more expolsive as the year went on. I can the the Saints putting up over 413 next season.Chase..Since 2000 what were the point totals for the highest scoring teams? And second and third as well? The Colts had to be in there a couple of times.

I see the Saints either trading for another receiver or drafting one on the first day of the draft. I know they should and IMO draft a defensive playmaker or cover guy in the first round, but Payton and company will take the BPA which could be a WR or TE.

This coming from a Saints fan.
