Saints will not win the NFC Championship (1 Viewer)

Pretty happy about Dallas winning yesterday. Now, NO doesn't have to face either Minn or Dallas until the NFCC if they make it there. Those are the 2 teams that I think would give NO the toughest matchup.
I think they could have some trouble with the Pack as well if they beat Arizona. NFC looks really wide open this year.. I think any of the 6 teams could win..

Well I'd have to agree with OverratedTEfan. This team has looked like crap since week 12 and will go into the game having not won in well over a month. That's just pitiful. They should have played to win yesterday.

Agreed. Saints really need to stop the cutback in their run defense if they want to stand a chance. Need to get back to running the ball more effectively as well.

Well looking like the Vikes Saints. Still going with what I said in early Dec. Saints will lose this game at home. I dont think they can stop the pass rush of the Vikes DL. And I think the NFL does much better with Favre in the Superbowl then the Saints!!!

There will be two defenses on the field and home field advantage will come into play. It will be the Saints but I am reducing my expectations to a one score victory after seeing this defensive effort from the Vikings. Damn I wanted the joy of the Saints doing this to the Cowpuffs. Oh well I will have to find some kind of way to get pumped up against the Vikings. Maybe Theisman or Madden will do some Farve slobbering this week and get me in the mood.

Not a particular fan of either team, but I think the Saints will win next week relatively easily, for the same reason I have predicted them to go to the SB since week one. They just score too many points. The Vikings will keep up for a while, then Favre will throw a pick or two, and that will be that.

I know most of the talk this week will be about the Vikings defense and rightfully so after this performance however lets not forget that the Saints held a pretty potent Cardnals offense to just 14 points and one of those was a freak stroke of luck on the first snap of the game. I think they can hold their own against Farve and Peterson and the Saints will still score on the best of defenses. It wont be a cake walk but I look forward to the game.

That's the beauty of Drew Brees, they don't have to stop the Vikings pass rush. Bushrod and Stinchcomb have been getting beat all year, that's nothing new. Brees' pocket awareness is IMO just as good as Peyton Manning, and he has much more mobility than Peyton to escape and run with the ball when everything else breaks down.I think the x-factor here is the Saints secondary. People will sleep on them b/c they were looking pretty ragged over the last half of the season, but with a healthy Greer and Porter starting at the corners, they're a totally different defense.

The NFL marketing guys would have to change their collective pants if Favre was in the Superbowl. They really can't lose though. The whole underdog Saints angle is compelling TV as well.

Consider that when the Super Bowl rolls around, the Saints will have faced the following QBs in these playoffs:

Kurt Warner

Brett Favre

Peyton Manning

Has any team ever had to face three surefire Hall of Famers in a row like that in the playoffs?

:lmao: Thank you. I follow my word. People in New Orleans know me as the Redskins guy. If you listened to Rod Ryan on 106.7 several years ago, you know I keep my word. Congrats again its gonna be an insane Mardi Gras!!!!!
Hey, since you're local now ... are the Saints at least your second team?

No I would root for the Lions as my 2nd team, and Pats as an AFC(because of Brady, and the old logo is my favorite.)

Who Dat. It is great to be a Saints fan tonight. So many years not knowing what this feels like. I am speechless. No more :bag:

CCF, I came here to give you grief, but since you are bending over the keg, I'll lightly slap your ### and move on!!

Laissez le bon temp rouler!!!

not sure I'd call Warner a "surefire" HOFer yet, but I agree that it's a strong group of QBs there.

 Still taken the Vikings today. If the Saints win today, a free  to my Saints's brothers at Mardi Gras
Can we start a tab in that famous riverbend restaurant? (Tipsy?)
No thanks....I'm not a huge fan of people that live in this city and constantly bash on the team. One of only about 20 people not happy here in town right now. Twenty bucks he goes to the parade today and acts like one of us.

Will you be crying into your hanky? Just kiddin CCF....you've been one of the few people able to stick to their guns and root for their original team. My BIL moved here 4 years ago after being introduced to the NFL after immigrating to Boston around the time they signed Brady. The trash talk from him over the years has been painful not only in its broken english and total lack of football knowledge, but in its constant "BEST TEAM EVER" talk which was even going on until about mid-way through the MNF game this year. Now he is dressing his kids up in Saints gear, joining 2nd lines in the area and chanting who dat, and watched the game with such passion for the Saints you would have thought he had been a fan since he was a kid. Needless to say i hate the D.B right now for jumping ship and claiming he is here now and has to be a fan. You stuck with your team. A team that is really terrible these days which makes it even more honorable. Hats off too ya for that. Now enjoy watching everyone in this area enjoy the party of the century tonight. At least it will be in HD on the NFL network. And i still don't want your dirty redskin money buying beers for Saints fans in my establishment. We should go to Cooters.

Man, this thread is just dripping with irony. Payton's gutsy calls were exactly what propelled the Saints to a championship over the conservative Colts. Priceless.

PS - I know what I said previously in this thread. I'm a fan - I'm allowed to be emotionally unstable.
