Rotowire -

Though his X-ray came up negative, Bradford may have some nerve damage in the finger he injured Sunday, the Rams' official site reports.

Spin:

That said, Bradford indicated after Sunday's game that he didn't "see there being any way" he wouldn't "be on the field next Monday night" against the Giants. He finished Sunday's dismal opener having completed 17-of-30 passes for just 188 yards and also lost a fumble that was returned for a 56 yard touchdown by Philadelphia.

I don't like this talk at all. This was in my ESPN little yellow box. Is rotowire a credible source on this? Nerve damage in his throwing hand???

Plus:

Game one OL play was terrible. SJax hurt though Caddie filled in well. Kendricks flopped, though it looked more like first game jitters and good coverage. WRs are the suck as expected, maybe even worse b/c now the truth really sets in and any semblance of hope for upside out of these bums seems dashed.

Good news first: QB Sam Bradford's right index finger is bruised. He'll be monitored this week but no nerve damage, nothing broken

OP, I think you're overreacting a little bit on the Rams performance in a whole. Their matchup was against a very likely super bowl candidate. I agree StL didn't look too well as I watched the whole game with an Eagles fan, but I do think they are way better than they played. The injury is obviously something to be concerned about, but I wouldn't take too much take on just this one performance.

"In his Monday presser, Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo characterized Sam Bradford's finger injury as a "contusion or bruise."

Spags called it a "day-to-day" situation. The extra day to heal up will help Bradford because the Rams play on Monday Night Football in Week 2. They may not even practice until Thursday. Look for Bradford to be out there next week."

The game against the Eagles was Bradford's 17th professional game. The game ranked in the bottom 5 for him. He was not good at all. His WR's/ TE's dropped 6 balls, which didn't help, but he still wasn't very good that game.
