San Francisco at Seattle (1 Viewer)

I'm just glad this game was in week 2. If it was later than week like 12, it might affect their season. Plenty of time to recover

I still think its a crime the Seahawks only got 1 SNF game. This is it.
Flex games
Not sure if they have rules for how often they allow teams to be used in flex, but if there's a limit, they'd better not spend them all, because they'll want to get St Louis @ Seattle week 17.
The week 17 meeting between Rams and Seahawks that got flexed to SNF (winner won the division) was the highest rated SNF in history at the time.

Not sure why people hate Richard Sherman, he talks a lot but the guy backs it up. He's well-spoken, good sportsmanship in that interview and he's a great player. I think he's awesome, great character in today's boring NFL.

Which is sad, considering how mediocre both those teams were. It was just the only playoff spot left in doubt that year.

And here I thought Sherman was going to give an interview without being a tool...
What'd he say?
He was giving props to the Niners, not being an arrogant tool, then started of about ignorant idiots who predicted SF would win. Not bad by Sherman's standards, but I'm not a fan of his brand of sportsmanship. He's becoming TO, only smarter.

What did he say? Thought it was a good interview, he just said look at the scoreboard to the doubters.
I think it was the ignorant idiots in the media blast.
It was. What do people want him to say? He went on and on about how great the 49ers are and what a challenge the game was. Thought he did well.

I think they wanted him to say pretty much what he did without calling the media (or anyone) "idiots."

Do you disagree?

What does it mean to you that fellow Seahawk fans don't even like you? How many Seahawks boards have you been banned from? At least 2, iirc.
It probably says that when he isn't in obvious troll mode, he offers honest and unbiased criticism of the team, acknowledging they have some weaknesses, and doesn't wrap himself in a 12 flag.

Do I disagree that the media is ignorant? Largely, no. Do I think they are ignorant because some of them picked San Fran to win the game or the division? No. Do I think more of them picked San Fran? Nope... I think Sherm just created something to let him play with a bit more of a chip on his shoulder. A lot of the great ones do that.

I think this is about right. Professional sports allows some latitude for showmanship, Sherman IMO pushes that limit but doesn't go over it like TO did (TO has some personal issues Sherman doesn't, I think Sherman knows the line while TO never even considered it). He held Boldin to one catch tonight, IMO he can sa whatever he wanted without disrespecting that very good team on the other side. I think he did that.

This game aside, I hate Pete Carroll more than every Niner hater combined hates Harbaugh. I'd really love to stab his face with a fork.
He's a good ####### football coach.
I really miss subtitles. The subtitle of this thread used to be "Go back to college, Pete Carroll!"I used to enjoy bumping that thread, but it wouldn't make much sense now. :kicksrock:
I'm the Scientist owning fools in that thread.
:goodposting:

So now that this game is over.... do we get the rest of the football season back? (Sweet mother of Richard Simmons, I'm just glad we didn't have this game put off until week 8 or so.... it would have been insufferable!)

ETA: (Well... more insufferable than it already was.)

I agree 100 percent.

People lament vanilla quotes and here is a guy who's anything but and he gets flack.

I've never seen a single post of his that wasn't biased and/or wrapped in a 12 flag. What it means is that he annoys the crap out of people who should be on his side.

I agree as well. Makes the league more entertaining, isn't that what it is for us fans anyways?

True.... but if you look at it from my point of view, not being accepted by your lot is points in his favor. He must be doing something right...

And it's likely what Goodell doesn't want. If you dislike Goodell, not sure how you can hate Sherman. Habitual line-stepper galore.

The game has to be more serious with the head injury stuff, but Goodell is taking just about all the fun out of it. If we didn't have Sherman and guys like him, it would be the Soviet Football League. Can't even spin the ####### ball anymore, pretty dumb.

Lol

We will see who is standing as NFC champs in January. I've never seen a team win it in September.
Let's have more of these "this game doesn't matter" quotes.

As he correctly pointed out, that Boldin catch wasn't his to cover. What he did do was only allow 26 yards (0 obviously to 200 yd rec Boldin) thrown his way by a guy that put up 400 last week. He can back it up, but then again so could TO. I didn't say he showed disrespect to the other team, that's what I said I liked about it. It was when he starts name calling and martyr-shticking that he gets annoying.

I can't look at it from the POV of habitual NFCW bottom feeders. No experience at it. If you want to align yourself with him, have at it. Drags you down even further though.

Well, I was thinking of my well-stated view of Squawk fans as a collective, but if you want to go another direction with it.... you have experience actling like standing on top of the world's shortest ladder is some sort of achievement. Please... regale us about how much value there is in those five division titles. Take pride in it. Act like it means more than one of those teams was worth a hill of beans.

Absolutely hilarious. For as much as I talk down this "rivalry," the beef between those two is real and legit. Well played, Sherman. And way to get out of there before Harbs slaps you on the back.
You may be right. If the 9ers can't keep it within 25 it isn't going to be a rivalry very long
At which point, Squawk fans will find a different team to beg for a rivalry.

Here's a guy who tracked who he thought was a rival from one year to the next. Seriously... pick a lane.
