Santonio Holmes (1 Viewer)

I've been casually observing the Steelers passing game and have noticed an increased utilization and increased/unique display of talent from one Santonio Holmes.

Now is the time to buy low.

You've been informed.

In Dynasty...ABSOLUTELY...I'm already on that wagon....

But also in re-draft. I think he'll have some value there as well this year. It's obvious if you watch Steelers' games that they are working him in more each week. He's a big play waiting to happen and I suspect those that stash him on a deep roster now will reap some rewards for it towards the end of the fantasy season.

I wonder if he has a legit shot at the #2 this year if he continues to make plays? I would guess not, but you never know. He is the most athletic player for the Steelers when he's on the field.(apologies to FWP)

I think so. Wilson isn't getting it done and Washington doesn't have (as you said) the talent that Holmes has. Game Breaking ability is underrated and Holmes has that. Once he breaks a big one the pressure to get him on the field will be immense. Especially because the early season woes of the Steelers offense has put them in a bit of a hole. Not too many CBs will keep up with SH down the sideline. I'm actually surprised the Steelers haven't tried to utilize that more yet.

Meh. I'm still waiting before I jump on that wagon. He's shown flashes, but nothing to get too excited about. The big play yesterday was a 5 yard hitch and the DB simply fell down.

Wilson and Washington both made some nice plays yesterday. In a dynasty league I'd buy him low if I could get him for the right price. In a re-draft? I don't think I'd give much up for him.

I'm definitely higher on him in dynasties than I am in redrafts. In dyntasties I look for glimpses, especially in their rookie year...it's awfully early for Holmes to already be showing the big play making ability he appears to have.

Been posted in other threads but the Steelers have used Holmes in some 2-WR sets (replacing Ced Wilson). In some 3-WR sets the Steelers have used Hines, Holmes and Washington (in the slot). Cowher is breaking the young guys in slowly and I'd be suprised if Holmes and Washington were consistent this year. Long term I think both have potential, especially if Whisenhunt takes over for Cowher next year. For what it's worth all 4 WRs played well yesterday, including Wilson...it was Heath Miller on the outside looking in.
