Saturday night preseason game observations (1 Viewer)

Ravens' 2nd TD drive:David Reed (WR) 4 catches, good hands. May make the club as WR5. Also nice ST tackle for him.Parmele for the TD. The McGahee trade rumors will pick up.Dickson and Pitta looked good on the same drive. Easy to see that Heap will be getting phased out at some point, and I believe it is time.
I heard heap was having a good camp. How is flacco looking?
Flacco was fine - actually Bulger was also very good (only one incomplete and it was a drop)Heap's aging very, very fast. Dickson and Pitta will be worked in often.
I watched the previous Raven game and I came away from that game actually thinking Bulger looked better than Flacco. I'd bet some coin on it that Bulger can lead that offense more effectively in a 2 minute drill than Flacco. There's no doubt I saw some throws (timing) that Flacco just doesn't make.Ya, I don't think the Raven TE's will put up a ton this year individually. I'd be very surprised if any of them finish top 12 (basically a TE worth starting).

Greg Olsen could be the Bears #1 WR this season, even with Martz, who does not feature TE's. Olsen had 5 targets and 3 receptions in the first half.

Andre Brown: "Achilles tendon? who needs an Achilles tendon?"Colston 4 catches, Meachum zilchMatthews, Best..... NICE!!Sanchez looked bad, Clausen looked worseShonn Greene looked like a turd, L.Tomlinson was impressing in all aspects including blocking...
Wrong, The Jets O line was brown turd shades fading to black all night. Ferguson gave up an early sack on a whiff, and they never opened any holes at all. Hardly Greene's fault, but the Jets played Monday night too... only 5 days between games. The Jets ones on offense only played a quarter. Additionally, teams, at least the Jets, did not have a game plan to play CAR. They ran their standard play sets. Next week that changes. Another reason why preseason games don't mean much.
Wow.. lolGreene supporter I take it? Or was it the Sanchez comment. I said they both looked bad tonight. You disagree?... Did you watch the game even if so? lolI didn't ask for excuses, I just said they both looked bad, and they did... How am I wrong?
I didn't say you were wrong... you are wrong, because calling Greene a turd in one quarter of play? Wow...LOL.Sanchez and Greene looked bad because the O line was bad. Is it that hard to wrap your head around? This is supposed to be one of the best O lines in the NFL, and they were flat out awful. Sanchez had some bad throws as well. The entire Jets O looked bad with the exception of Tomlinson. Is it because they only had 4 days off between games? Also worth noting, the Jets ones only played one quarter.
He said he looked like a turd, not that he was one, and I think he was only saying he looked putrid in the time he played last night, which he more or less did. I don't think he was judging him as a player, just noting that he played poorly last night.

People take too much from preseason games. They really don't predict the season. Martz throwing to him is a good idea but a TE being the top receiver is a bit much.

I pretty much agree with this, but the one thing to take from it is that Martz is at least looking into getting the TE involved and seeing how viable it could be. That's more than Martz did in the past.

I think the shark move is to draft Andre Brown semi late and stash him for a while. He looks to be the best back out of all the giants. I think he will be getting the bulk of the carries late in the year.
:X
Care to elaborate?
Probably owns Bradshaw or Jacobs. Don't know if he can be the best but Jacobs won't have too many years left. In fact if he gets hurt and Brown can show some stuff this year, I can see Jacobs hitting the road.

Bulger is a very good QB. I justy chuckled at the bad rap he was getting behind the sieve of a line in St.Louis the last few years.

Larry Johnson started at RB for the Redskins and had a well-rounded game -- bad at rushing, blocking and receiving. He was very slow to the hole, he whiffed on blocks, and made a volleyball game out of a reception attempt. He was taken out on 2nd and 3rd downs in favor of Portis who can block.

It's probably that Brown is a 3rd string RB and has little to no value in a redraft league.
