Savannah Bananas on the Ocho (2 Viewers)

They are coming to Trenton next week and the very limited number of tickets on seat geek are going for $300

I literally just learned of the Savannah Bananas last week! :excited: Turning it on now.
We tried to get tickets when they came here a few months back. They are so popular there was a lottery for them. Alas, we didn't get in, but we will be trying again next time.

There was a segment of Real Sports on them. Might be findable.

Mullet championship and Air Guitar championship on overnight. Might stay up all night.
Marble racing at 4 AM. Got Slamball now.

This Slamball is absolutely horrible. The one minute highlight reels of the dunks is great, but all the stuff in between sucks.
Yep, I agree. I shut it off. Going to bed. Let me know how the Mullet championship shakes out.
Assuredly it was business in the front and party in the back.

We've taken our grandkids to see the Bananas a couple of times. There's a long waiting list for tickets but occasionally a few tickets can be found when the holder can't go. Son in law works for the city of Hilton Head and sometimes runs across tickets.

The tickets are so hard to come by because the stadium is so small... holds around 4,000. If they find/build another stadium, fans will definitely fill it.

The game itself is a hoot and more like a globetrotter's game than baseball, but it's fun and the kids love it. Interesting rules. Foul balls caught by fans are outs. On walks, every player in the field has to touch the ball before the play is live, meaning the batter can run the bases while they're throwing it around.

And lots of dancing

"Savannah Bananas On The Ocho" does not sound like the title of a baseball-influenced experience, that's for sure.

My favorite rule I think is the most runs of the inning wins the inning for 1 run. Meaning if the visitors score 3 runs in the top of the first and hone team score zero. The score is now 1-0 after one inning. The last inning is regular

The walk rule is pretty crazy. Think all players on the other team have to touch the ball as player sprints to 2nd base. They never really said what the hell was going on.

Yes everyone needs to touch it before you can tag the runner. The documentary was interesting as they were figuring out how to play it defensively. At the doc is worth it just to listen to Eric Byrnes

I've been wanting to see that doc, but don't want to purchase yet another streaming service that I rarely watch. I'm hoping it pops up elsewhere at some point.

Ocho has kickball right now...some other good stuff on the docket for tonight: Pillow Fight Championship, FootGolf, beer stein holding, eskooter racing, corgi racing...

That one broke my brain at first, somehow we had missed that rule.
We had thought the bananas would come from behind in the last inning when we saw them in Indianapolis.
