Okay, got my phone fixed. Now I think I'm ready to make the jump to Ting. I've never changed cell carriers. I've has Sprint for like 16 years. So, if I switch I assume I can keep my same phone number? Do I cancel with Sprint first or sign up with Ting first? Can they cancel my sprint since they're taking the phone number from Sprint? Thanks for any guidance.

Don't cancel with Sprint first, you'd lose your number.

Call Ting (1-800-TING-FTW) and sign up with them first, let them know you want to port your number.

Went through Best Buy and they say they are getting me $45/month for 2GB on EDGE. I'll be calling Verizon to verify that's what I'm really getting.

I've been rocking a nexus 4 (so 2 year old glass tech) for a year now without a screen protector and have only caused one tiny scratch. I treat my phone like #### too, no coddling.

I'm currently rolling with no case, and a ballistic glass screen protector from Tech Armor. Basically, its a piece of glass that goes over your screen. If I drop my phone, the protector shatters, not my screen. I don't really care if I mark up the backside of the phone. Thing was like $15 bucks and they replace it for free if it shatters.

Basically, this is protection without sacrafice imo.

I have no idea about whether or not Sprint works. I live in Alexandria VA. I'm assuming it is populated enough to give good coverage.

Interestingly, I just got an an add for Sprint that seemed to say it charged $100/month for a family of four lines plus 10GB of data. So I called the Sprint number, and the guy quoted me (for just two lines) $100/month, PLUS $30/month per phone for a total of $160/month. For just two lines. I don't get it.

Anyway, I'm not against Sprint, I don't think. Why can't someone just quote me a f^cking price that is not confusing? Why is this so hard?

Still with Verizon, which I'm fine with as their coverage has been good.

Daughter number 1, who works for Apple, comes home with the 6+.

Within milliseconds we have my wife ordering her 6+ and the others getting the 6. I didn't know what hit me. The only saving grace is being able to sell all of their old phones.

Daughter number 1, who works for Apple, comes home with the 6+.

Within milliseconds we have my wife ordering her 6+ and the others getting the 6. I didn't know what hit me. The only saving grace is being able to sell all of their old phones.

No, there is a per phone charge of $6 a month and then all minutes/texts/data is charged based on the total used for all phones.

My bill last month was $65.73 for 5 phones and that includes $9.73 in taxes and fees.

I got a few of them directly from Ting, I've bought 3 iphone4's for ~$80-$100 each for my son, wife and myself (on craigslist and Ebay) If you don't need the latest phone, no problem.

They need to be sprint phones. You can easily find an iphone4 on ebay in good shape in this range.

1) Cheapest/Best option depends ENTIRELY on how she uses her phone. There is no universal answer. How many minutes does she talk a month? How many texts does she send? How many MB of data does she use? Answer these questions and I can begin finding the best fit for her.

2) T-Mobile will pay off the Early Termination Fee in FULL if you switch to them. Ting will pay 25% of the ETF. Don't think there are any others offering this at the moment. How long has she been in her current contract? The ETF gets smaller the longer that amount of time is.

3) There isn't a store you can go to w/ these MVNOs. Thats really the only overall drawback. Service can be the same or altered. Customer service can be worse, but its also way better with some. It just really depends.
