Scheffler practices fully the past two days (1 Viewer)

(Rotoworld) Tony Scheffler (leg) practiced without restrictions Wednesday.Impact: Scheffler was reported to have sprained his ankle Sunday night against the Steelers, but the injury doesn't appear to be serious at all. His role in Denver's offense is obviously growing quickly after a five-catch, 50-yard outing in Week 7. Scheffler is a fine bye week start against Green Bay.
(KFFL) Bill Williamson, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos TE Tony Scheffler (leg) practiced Thursday, Oct. 25, and should be available to play Week 8.
Assuming he goes out today, does he get moved up the FBG rankings? If so to what range? I heard alot of buzz about his return and seems like all systems are a go this weekend against GB. I understand the FBG reasoning for having him low due to the re-aggrivation, but is he going to climb at all this week in the rankings? Also where do you think he ranks going forward?

Don't discount the Iron Schef -- Cutler was looking for him all game against the Steelers. With Walker out and Henry falling apart, Marshall and Schef are options 1 and 1a in the Denver offense. And Cutler is turning into a top flight QB before our very eyes. If Schef can stay healthy, I could easily see him putting up numbers on par with Shockey and Heap down the stretch.

Also remember GB blows at covering TEs. Poppinga has been getting killed all year.

Other than the first game against the Eagles...the TEs have been productive.

Shockey...5-60yards...led the team in receiving

Gates...11-113...led the team in receiving

Shiancoe...4-38

Clark...3-62-TD...led the team in receiving

Olsen...4-57-TD...2nd in receiving that game to Clark

Cooley...9-105-TD...led the team in receiving

Now, those are some good TEs as well...but GB's weakness on D has been the TE.

I doubt it --- He is TE2 on his own team and they run first.
They were a run-first team in 1998, when TD went for over 2k yards, but the TE still had 64 catches and 10 TD's. This is an offense in which the TE can have a major impact - that's what Scheffler was brought in to do. Graham was brought in primarily to block. If you want to call Scheffler a TE2 - well, that's not really true, it's more like TE(a) and TE(b).

I couldn't disagree more.
 Terrible post. He's the #1 TE receiving option there on a team missing it's #1 WR and doesn't pass regularly to its RB's. He's a Top 12 TE the rest of the year if Javon's out the rest of the year. He may be anyways.
He has to stay in one piece first. That's the rub.Hopefully, he's good to go. I need him this week and the GB matchup has had me drooling for a couple weeks.

OK. Of these young, rising TE options, where do you have them ranked?Scheffler, Olsen, V. Davis.
Exactly as you ranked them.
I don't know. I think it's Olsen, Davis, Scheffler.I'm not sure that it's a fact that Cutler is constantly looking for Shceffler as some say. During Tony's solid run last year, in his best game, he still only had 6 targets. Not bad, but it's also not a clear indication that he's going to be a favorite target of Cutler. Unless, there's other insight I'm not considering.

Javon walker being down. That is this years insight. Next year, well we would have to deal with that next year but if he performs well in the last half of this season he is going to be a BIG target for cutler. You have to think last year, he was a rookie and was seeing some 5+ target games

I'd rank those 3 for the 2nd half of the year: Davis, Scheffler, Olsen.

I really like Olsen, but Desmond's going to play a part in catching the football (a larger part than I see Graham). Ranking Davis 1 is believing Alex Smith can't get any worse than early on in the year and he's looks to be the #1 option in the passing game.

After watching Schef limp off Sunday night, I'm having a hard time believing he's been practicing fully let alone being ready to play. It just looked like re-broke his foot or something the way he limped off. If a reporter reports a player as having practised fully, how reliable is that? I mean, does the reporter actually watch practise firsthand everyday to see who practises, or does he just give Shanahan a phone call to get info? With all the loose reporting on injuries these days, who knows. That said, I did pick Scheffler up, although I'm probably going to start V.Davis because of the uncertainty.

If his arm's still hurt then he absolutely can play worse and frankly that would be a horrific sight to see.

Any practice news today? I haven't seen any news posted about the Broncos Friday practice. Also kinda interested to see if Henry did any work today. Read that Rod Smith was practicing again, is he going to be active this week and if so does this effect Scheffler's redzone targets?

I'm under the assumption Scheffler is going to start tonight since I've really seen no additional info. Anyone else hear anything different?
