Their linebackers appear to be unreal. They should produce solid pressure all year. Whether they produce games like tonight or not will be determined by the offenses ability to exploit the openings and the OC's ability to gameplan.

The key is Castillo - everyone knows about Merriman, but Luis has been a favorite of the coaching staff since he arrived. Remember, Castillo would have been a top 10-15 pick had he not tested positive for steriods before the draft, enabling the Chargers to roll the dice on him at 28.

While defenses have to pay special attention to Merriman and Phillips on the corners, Castillo will be able to face 1 on 1 matchups all season and could end up with a LOT of sacks for a DL. During the telecast tonight, Vermeil said that Castillo was the best young DL he's since enter the NFL since he came back to coaching in 1997.

Both filled in late in the blowout. Cooper was the LILB.

The others slipped for other reasons (Castillo steriods, Cromartie knee injury, McNeill back condition). They all look like fantastic picks.

They play the Raiders and Chiefs three more games combined so 1/4 of their games could be like this pretty easy. You could probably find a couple more games where they would get 5 or so sacks.
