Sea @ Clev Doubleheader PPD (1 Viewer)

just reallized i don't even have a replacement for sizemore :( ..waiting for teahen and hall to get of eligibility. didn't think it would be a big deal for just the 1st two weeks...

It's freakin nuts around here. Three days ago it was 80 degress. Now I have a foot of snow on my back deck...

There's been a lot of controversy around here about yesterday's home opener being called one out shy of being an official game. I guess they avoided that problem today.

Props to the schedule makers bringing Seattle in early April for their only trip to Cleveland all year. Good thinking there.

I agree alot of the blame has to fall on the schedule makers. Is it that hard to schedule the first week of games in warmer climate cities to have less chance of all these snow games being postponed?

?????

I had to shovel my drive again this morning. It is pretty damn cold, but it is not snowing at the moment. That doesn't mean much though. Lake effect snow is a nasty thing. It can come on in a heartbeat. Also, I live about 20 miles southeast of Jacobs field. What it is doing here weather-wise isn't necessarily what's going on downtown.

Well at least we may get 2 extra games out this for this coming scoring period. Is it still a winter wonderland in Cleveland or will they finally be able to play some baseball tomorrow???

I wouldn't guarantee any baseball tomorrow, but I think the chances are the best they have been all weekend. There are still lake effect snow advisories for the eastern suburbs, but it is supposed to be tapering off by morning. I don't think the games are scheduled until 4:00 PM, so if the snow machine shuts off, they should be able to get the field ready.

4x champ...how do you figure on 2 extra games??? The can only make up one of the lost games on Monday by playing a doubleheader. That will give Cleveland an 8 game week (Mon-Sun). That is only one more than the original schedule.

Oh I had thought it was an off day for both teams. Didn't realize they had one more regularly scheduled game.ETA: I think I read that this was Seattle's only trip to Cleveland this year, if that's the case how will they make up the lost games??

This was Seattle's only scheduled trip to Cleveland, but that may now change. The teams have a couple mutual days off. They are looking into the logistics of scheduling a doubleheader on one of those days. Monday, June 11th was one date mentioned. Indians finish a weekend series in Cincy with a day game (not too far away from CLE) before heading to Florida for a Tuesday night game. The Mariners finish a weeked series in San Diego and will be headed to Chicago for a Tuesday night game. They may need a pit stop in Cleveland for a doubleheader.

With snow and rain expected throughout the week, MLB is considering plans to move the upcoming series with LAA to California. They say this is unlikely, but they are considering the possibility. Gee...now why couldn't the schedule makers set up the early season series in California to begin with?
