Seahawks | Alexander will not play Week 4Wed, 27 Sep 2006 16:07:54 -0700ESPN's John Clayton reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander (foot) will not play in the team's Week 4 game.
Well at least we know ahead of time. Cause ESPN ain't been wrong -- waitaminute.... nevermind.

Alexander's broken foot confirmed

By GREGG BELL, AP Sports Writer

September 27, 2006

KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- The power of cross-continental prayer among family members on the telephone. An ultrasound machine working overtime. And optimism so rampant, it led him to jump up and down on a broken bone.

Two days of that still couldn't fill the crack in Shaun Alexander's foot.

The league MVP asked for and got another round of CT scans Wednesday on the previously diagnosed cracked bone in his left foot. Alexander said those tests showed the same break in the fourth metatarsal that was there on Monday.

So do w go back to expectations of being out 1 month?
YOu know what they say - plan for the worst, hope for the best.Assume you lose him for @3-4 games -- plan for it -- and if he comes back sooner that will be gravy. But even when he was saying he would play (might play) this weekend, I was functioning under the assumption he might miss time.

At least they are using the word 'guessing'.And The Man Who Met Andy Griffith and tmc94? Can we NOT get this thread deleted too?

God heals on his own timescale, which is roughly about the time it takes the body to heal itself naturally. Good luck SA...and get better soon!

I like Alexander's drive to want to be out on the field  Hopefully he'll be back sooner rather than later.
This is actually what has me worried. Given his actions this week, I'm concerned he isn't going to allow enough time to heal, and he's going to end up worse off in the long run than if he takes a couple of extra weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to heal properly, but i like how he wants to play...the jumping around infront of Holmgren was just :loco:

I just dealt him and Morris, Leinart, and Williamson for Portis, Andre Johnson, and Anthony Thomas. My previous team is in my sig.

I'm trying to get a aguge on what others see Morris' value at this point. If Alexander misses time is a legit starter or does he fall into the category of sell high immedialtly. Unfortunately I have stumbled out of the blocks and find myself in postion to possibly aquire Morris this week. Another owner has contactd me syaing if I can get Morris he is willing to give up Moose or Edwards and C. Benson.

What is Morris' value going forward??

Think about it this way, Seattle plays the Bears this week then they have a bye, after that Alexander may be back or he may miss one or two more games tops.If you don't own SA and you're playing Morris this week you're either dumb or your RBs suck really bad on top of that Morris is averaging 3.0YPC, the only game I've seen Seattle play was last weekend and Morris looked like garbage so IMHO. So if you own him you'll get 2 games tops out of him unless Alexander somehow gets hurt again. If you can get some value for him now and don't own SA sell while you can!!!

So if people have Tiki Barber, Willie Parker, The Bell Boys, or Cadillac Williams on a bye this week, and they picked up Morris to plug in as a rb 2, they are dumb?

The Hawks signed RB Marquis Weeks from the practice squad to a 2 yr deal and to make room for him they had to drop special teams captain Isaiah Kacyvenski.

He was a great fill in for injured starting LBs the last few years but was displaced by Lofa last season in training camp. Still his special teams contributions will be missed. A real bummer of a casualty from the SA injury.
