Seahawks at Panthers (1 Viewer)

Good Gods! These stupid, stupid penalties are killing them. Three huge plays now have been erased by late hits and a "hold" (dunno who it was on because the guy they called didn't hold, could be blown call or wrong number or makeup for non call on Smith). Anyway, just CANNOT keep having these flags. That was dumber than any of Bruno's.

If Seattle was a more disciplined team they'd be a force. Too many dumb penalties and poor decisions are what is really holding this team back. That and horrendous third down conversion % & play calling.

That one was on Marshawn, but this has the feeling of Wilson seeing the bench. Hope I'm wrong because he's played extremely well, but with the way the ball is bouncing in this game I wouldn't be surprised if we see Flynn.

JHC. Seattle beating themselves today. Wilson escapes massive pressure and dumps it off to Lynch who pops it into the air and it's picked. Aside from one throw, Wilson's played a great game but penalties and turnovers are killing their chances.

And now another flag on a 3rd down stop.

No way.
If Wilson continues to be unable to punch it in and the calls and turnovers continue to be in Carolina's favor, I could see it. And it would be for his own good. Seattle just needs to change their mojo. Not saying that Wilson should be pulled, just that it may be the logical choice for a coaching staff that has continually put him in bad situations for a rookie QB.

Are players going to stop holding if Flynn's in? You put Flynn in now, then there's a full blown official QB controversy going on. I could understand it if he was having the kind of game that Cam's having, but benching him for not being able to overcome a flag erasing almost every big play isn't going to be of any help whatsoever to anyone. Even if they win the game with Flynn in (unless he completely lights it up) then how do you handle it the rest of the year? Benching Russell is a giant beehive best left alone unless he's completely tanking, and minus that pick six, that isn't happening.

I was speaking more to the fact that it might actually be a good thing to have Flynn go in and take some of the pressure off of Wilson. I agree with Ryan that Wilson seems to tighten up in the red zone. That, coupled with the Seahawks need for a victory now, may have been enough for a temporary switch. Of course the Seahawks D came though once again and Wilson just gave me a nice warm cup of ####.

Was it just me, or did Cam have a TD on his draw and bounce it outside for no reason? And yeah, that throw was unbelievably bad.

Every time Chris Myers talks I want to bang my head on the desk. He's the epitome of the guy that got the job because he's good at talking on the air but has absolutely zero knowledge of the game.

Nice pick with Bruce Irvin even though they caught heat at the draft the guy is always making plays.

And the D closes the deal. Another sack for Irvin. Better playcalling and coaching, with the exception of penalty discipline. Wilson played well. Lynch had some good runs called back but still did what was needed when it was needed. Two games in a row without allowing a regular offensive TD (fake FG last week). Lose the penalties and this would've been a decisive win. Exactly what Wilson and Carroll needed (rest of team too, of course) after all the questioning during the last week. Good win, nice flight home!

By the end of the year this Seahawks draft will be viewed as one of the better drafts in the league. Especially if Wilson takes them deep into the playoffs.

Definitely. Irvin is turning it on, I was starting to think for awhile that with the success the rest of the DL was having that maybe a playmaking WR would've been a better pick, but he's performing with a high motor. The Utah State guys in Wagner and Turbin are both solid contributors. And Sweezy might be a genius pick once he learns the position a little more.

Completely agree with all of this, the Seahawks definitely had a heck of a draft.

I remember they were killing Carrol for the pick at the draft and everytime I see the Seattle D he is getting a sack. Props to Carrol.

During preseason and the first 2 games he was looking pretty pedestrian but the Green Bay uncorking (2 sacks) got his motor kicked in and he's been going nuts. eta: to be fair, the DL wasn't doing well rushing the passer last year so it's not like the idea of a WR over Irvin was a gimme or anything. It was all hindsight on my part.
