Atlanta still the worst sports town in America. How the hell are tickets still available?
I haven't read any stories indicating a ticket problem. This game, and any future playoff games, will obviously be a sellout.
http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-falcons-blog/2013/01/09/playoff-buzz-there-are-9000-tickets-available-for-sold-out-game/
The game Sunday at the Georgia Dome is sold out, but plenty of those tickets ended up on the secondary market. As of Tuesday afternoon, StubHub.com was offering more than 9,000 tickets that started at $60 for single upper end-zone seats.
So, tickets still available on Stubhub = worst sports town in America? You do realize there are tickets available to every playoff game on Stubhub, including the Super Bowl, right?
9,000 tickets available to a playoff game a few days away is incredibly pathetic.

There are 2000 tickets for the NE game, 3000 for Denver, 5000 for Green Bay, and 7000 for Atl on stubhub. Obviously GB is the 2nd worst football town in the playoff's, or someone isn't quite sure how stubhub works.

I thought it was already determined that Atlanta is the worst sports town because of the Tomahawk Chop?

It's actually San Fran who is in a close second with 5,863 available. That game is also Saturday prime time, so using the logic above, they are clearly one of the worst sports towns.

WEll GB and San Fran are pretty far apart...not sure how you expect the city of Green Bay to buy up all the tickets to that game. ;)

Classy. Fact is they are trying to give away the tickets at this point. Why do you think it was a story today?

Who is "they"? The people who own the tickets (thus making it a sell-out) and are trying to make some money from the increase in demand? Do you even know how Stub Hub works?

Oh #### about Stub Hub. There is a reason this was a story today. Take a look at how many tickets are available and how low they start at. There is a reason those numbers are substantially different from the other 3 games. Holy ####. I'm annoyed I'm still discussing this crap.

Well, predictions are rolling out now for the divisional games and it looks like the Falcons are getting the nod in this one.Regardless, Nate Silver (the guy who predicted the entire 2012 Presidential election) still has the Seahawks in the Superbowl:http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8831714

I find it shocking that the Falcons are only 2.5 point favorites. I don't like betting sites, but I'd bet anyone on here up to $100 they cover that. There seem to be a lot of SEA homers on here that think they're gonna win easily. I don't see it.
Paging I'mtheScientist
:lmao: he's the worst. And should be along shortly to take that guys bet.
Of course he will because 1. It's the FAILcons and 2. He's not a #####.
Looks like there is a way to shut him up after all.

Maybe it's because this kind of ****-waving doesn't do anyone any good. Let's say for me, $100 is just not even worth it. So I re-challenge to push it up to $5,000 that is a ok sum for me and where it seems like a safe non-bet (I actually don't gamble so this is all just theoretical). Then someone else comes along and says $20,000 or something I wouldn't be interested in doing...and on and on.It's just a dumb way to challenge someone IMO because it really isn't going to go anywhere to begin with. How many stranger money bets are offered and then they actually follow through? I'd say very close to zero, especially when you think of how many morons actually try this tactic of winning an argument. You want a good challenge? You need something that doesn't require household demographics to play a factor. Make a sig bet where I get to write anything into your sig if the Seahawks win and vice-versa if they lose. The loser keeps it there until the start of next season. Or something else, I don't actually care.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to be this guy :)
No they won't. Look at their schedule.Running game is done, I drafted Lynch.Like some overrated rookie qb is going to win 9 games.Would bet 10k easy on it.

Falcons fan and I think it comes down to two things.1. Turnover - stating the obvious but both Def were great at taking the ball away. Turnover battle is huge.2. ATL ability to keep Wilson in the pocket And make him beat him with his arm. I don't think Sea can win with just Lynch (excluding turnovers) but if Wilson makes plays with his legs to keep drives alive then I think they probably win.

Still stands as the single most important stat out there. Teams that are -2 or more rarely win.

I think that's a pretty good assessment, however because of Lynch the Seahawks have been rather effective in play-action. While the read-option has been getting some notoriety we actually only run it a handful of times a game--it isn't the entire running gameplan so I'm not too concerned about Wilson passing from the pocket. I think too many people outside Seattle see him as a running QB only. From a Seahawks fan's perspective, I really just want to see Seattle control the TOP as much as possible. Atlanta scares me in that they can score extremely quickly, so we need to keep your defense on the field as much as possible to (a) do our best to "freeze" the ATL offense and keep them out of sync, and (b) wear down the defense as much as possible to make it easier to run on and score against.I really expect this game to be a close one and might very well come down to the wire again. The last team with the ball may very well win the game.Oh, and can the Falcons win the coin toss and receive the ball? Seattle seems much more effective when they get the ball to start the second half.

Wilson has actually been better in the pocket. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/88192/a-couple-qb-stats-to-keep-in-pocket-or-outYou haven't seen a single Seahawks game this year....have you.

I know ITS can be ponderous, but you said that the Falcons should keep Wilson in the pocket. ITS pointed out that he's better in the pocket. Then you call him an idiot. His comment may have been smarmy, but it was accurate.

I just want to point out a new Seahawks pregame thread record: we made it four posts before it dissolved into monkeys flinging crap at each other again.Everyone should be very proud of this major milestone and steel yourselves to try to break it again!

THe point was not that he is not good throwing from the pocket...but not letting him escape to run and create plays that way.I think they would rather him have to throw for things...then get easy 10-15 yard runs by escaping.

Perhaps, but Wilson has only had 7 runs of 15 yards or more in the past 17 games (one of those from in the pocket) and he is completing 65% of his passes from inside as well. IMO keeping him in the pocket isn't offering the opponent any sort of advantage.

When you say something indefensible and get called out on it there aren't many other options if you want to pretend you weren't mistaken

Ok, I'm thinking that first offensive play called for...

Atlanta: a deep pass that is supposed to be a "statement" that the Falcons aren't going to be scared by Seattle. It falls incomplete.

Seattle: an I-formation Marshawn Lynch run left for two yards. It doesn't gain much but sets up the play-action on the very next play.

Are the Hawks going with the white jerseys or the wolf greys? This is important information I need before picking this game.

I'd be curious to see the in pocket vs out of pocket comparisons for other perceived "non-pocket" QBs. It would not surprise me if many of these QBs have better in-pocket passing stats. Some out of pocket attempts are designed but many are forced where th QB may be throwing the ball away under duress. Not arguing that Wilson is a decent pocket QB--just curious how other QBs compare. I'll see if I can dig something up.

Are most people who are not fans of either team from Missouri so to speak when it comes to the Falcons?

I'm excited to watch the ATL offense vs the SEA defense. If there are any receivers that can get one over on the SEA secondary, it's Jones, White, and Gonzalez. If there's any secondary that can shut down the ATL receivers, it's Sherman, Browner, Thomas, and Chancellor. I think this matchup will decide the game, as I feel like Seattle should be able to run the ball on Atlanta. Should be a fun game to watch.

Seattle should be able to run at will, but Lynch has a sprained foot, and Turbin has not been a factor in the last couple games. Seattle needs a pass rush, and get it done on 3rd down. Hope to see Rice and Tate end their TD droughts. I would love to see Seattle jump out to a lead and the fans turn on Matt Ryan.
