Sebastian Janikowski (hammy) (1 Viewer)

Please be 2 weeks (odd bench rules in the one league require we keep 2 kickers...roster moves are limited...I have Seabass and Hanson).

Hmm, I'm playing against a guy who typically doesn't check on his team too much after setting the lineup (unless some major news comes out, and I doubt a kicker being out will make the big news). He is starting Janikowski. Now I need to decide whether I do the nice thing and tell him.

Small bump for Raiders offensive players. Hue Jax is a gambler on fourth down and I see at least one or two 4th and short attempts from midfield per game that would've otherwise been long Janko FGs. Dude was booming them this year from 50+ with regularity.

Don't know if the wording changed since the OP, but this is not confirmed just yet:

Raiders | Sebastian Janikowski may be down a few weeks

Fri, 21 Oct 2011 09:56:55 -0700

Oakland Raiders PK Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) may have to be shut down for a few weeks with his hamstring injury. As a result, the Raiders are auditioning kickers Friday, Oct. 21.

Not saying you're wrong, and for my money, I'm guessing he misses this week, but just want to clarify.

Not for sure, underlining "may" is correct:

@JasonLaCanfora: Raiders worried about K Seabass Janikowski's status, may have to shut him down for a while, will be working out free agent kickers today

EDIT: Raiders are on bye Week 8 also, which means resting him Week 7 would result in 2 straight weeks of rest (I'm inclined to believe they will do it for this reason)

Will watch this very close. We can only make 3 wire moves a week. My opp has 1 move left and will need pick up a Def... So he might go with out kicker and top that off take -15 for starting a player that is inactive.....

:wall: cant decide if I should keep him on the roster....he's been $$$ and i dont want to drop anyone else for a kicker..... :wall:

If he is on Bye week 8 there is a chance I could drop him and get him back but I still am afraid to drop someone other than a kicker for another kicker. I would have to say winning my league last year was partly due to him on my roster for sure....he was on fire at the end of last year.

I was at the same situation. He's put up double digits for 3 of 6 weeks and scored 20 two weeks ago in my format. He's put up more than a number of WRs in the league who are considered startable.I NEVER would roster 2 K's, though this is the first time I've ever done it. He could be clutch down the stretch when he comes back and I don't want to lose that/give that to any other team in my league.... Never thought I'd roster two and now I have.

I am considering dropping either lance moore or ben tate. Whomever doesnt get dropped will be playing this week.....the thought of lance moore blowing up this week is killing me....he gets a lot of targets. But Ben Tate is one pulled hammy away from starting.... :wall: :wall: maybe this wall will spit out an answer if I keep doing this :wall:

He has played for six different teams in parts of six NFL seasons. To make room, Oakland waived defensive back Ron Parker on Saturday.Janikowski missed practice on Friday because of a left hamstring injury and was listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski, who missed Week 7 with a left hamstring injury, did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 9 vs. Denver. Oakland was on a bye Week 8.

(Updated 11/02/2011).

Fantasy Analysis

The Raiders cut Janikowski's one-week replacement during the bye because they were confident Janikowski would return to action Week 9. Just because he rested Wednesday doesn't mean his status for Week 9 is in jeopardy. The Raiders know what Janikowski can do and now the plan is just to make sure he can kick this week. Janikowski is a viable Fantasy option when active.
