Seems Like Everyone Has Already Crowned the 49ers (1 Viewer)

Who Do You Think Will Win the Superbowl?

The firing of Cam Cameron is mixed bag for the Ravens offense.

Since the firing, Joe Flaccos td / int ratio is much better. But his completion percentage is way down and the Ravens scoring average has actually dropped.

But the Ravens defense will get run over by the 49ers offense.

The Ravens offense will have to have a career day to win this.
Don't you think that is what they will have?
No. I don't feel comfortable expecting the 49ers to not get pressure from Justin and Aldon. I don't feel comfortable expecting Flacco to have a huge game. But that's what people have to expect to think that the 49ers won't blow out the Ravens. Flacco is not that good to expect that performance. I don't think the triceps injury is hurting the 49ers.

Yeah if it wasn't for Lewis the rest of the team wouldn't have even made the trip. They will definitely win only because he is retiring. Maybe next year 49ers.PS-Nobody gives a crap about Lewis retiring except for hack reporters looking for something to write about. And hack writers make up 95% of the writers.
I disagree. Emotion plays a big role in sports, particularly physical ones. And I think the Ravens players give a huge crap about Lewis' retirement.
Emotion can work against you just as much as it can work for you. If you need to be inspired to play in arguably the biggest game in all of sport, you probably shouldn't be playing.

Flacco will throw interceptions.
Much like he did against the Pats? Or the Broncos? Or the Colts?I am not a big Flacco fan but interceptions have not been what he has thrown in the playoffs. He may buck that trend here in the Super Bowl but I am not sure what would make you confident in that.
How about a small sample set that grows by 33%? He likely throws at least 1.
I think it is very reasonable to think that he will throw one, but the initial post of "Flacco will throw interceptions" indicates that he is likely to throw multiple interceptions. And I would imagine that it is also suggesting that he will have a bad game in general. He may very well do that, but I think that to assume that he will do that is to ignore how well he has played in the playoffs. So then, let's look at the regular season since you are wanting more data points (which is a reasonable request)...Flacco, while nothing remotely spectacular had exactly 1 game where he threw multiple interceptions. Again...he could buck that trend, but I do not see why that would be the expectation particularly when he has actually performed better than his normal when playing in the bigger games.JMO.

I heard that in Vegas 70% of the money is getting put on the Ravens, so apparently a number of people think the Niners aren't going to run away with it.
Goal of oddsmakers in Vegas is to get as close to a 50/50 split on money in between the two teams (since they get that sweet vigorish). If there really was 70% action on the Ravens, you'd see the line move. And even if that was true, it only means that there is group of people that think the Ravens will win outright or Niners will win by more than the spread.. and not 70% believe Ravens to win outright.
This is not always true. Vegas will take a side. That being said, the money in Vegas is about 70% Niners and the line is inching up. Best case for the books is for SF to win and not cover as the money on the Ravens has been mostly ML action.

The Ravens will win 42-14 the Ravens are a better team and I don't even see it bring close other than Vernon Davis who should the Ravens fear on that offense
Vernon Davis was a huge part of the offense when Alex Smith was the QB. CK doesnt use him nearly as much. His numbers are way way down since CK took over.

It depends on what you think of the 49ers pass rush. So many people seem convinced the 49ers pass rush will get neutralized. I'm not sold on that. I think its more likely they will control the line.

I think teh 9ers will get some good pressure on Flacco, I just am not expecting Flacco to completely implode under that pressure. He has been just decent all year but never had a stinker, and then has been pretty spectacular in the playoffs. I figure the 9ers will make him look like the average Joe Flacco we have seen a number of times but considering he has only had one multi-interception game this year I doubt he is the guy that just tanks this game.

People play for themselves, nobody else.... I mean it's the dumbest thing I've heard.
Really? You don't know sports or the NFL very well at all. Good day to you, sir.
You don't understand people at all nor how to read a sentence. Emotion matters, people don't get it because some guy who the media has built into some ridiculous hero is playing his last game. It's just really childish. Stick to Fox news and Hannah Montana.

If this were a 7 game series I think the niners walk away with it. But the great thing about football is that anything can happen in 1 game.I can't wait to see what happens
Biggest problem with nfl playoffs like ncaa mens bball tourney is the one off feature. Makes it hard to get the proper champion as often as the nba does.

Joe Flacco has the 4th best Career Interception percentage in NFL history. If he throws multiple INTs, the 49ers will win and will have earned it.I am interested to see if Reed can bait Kaepernick into mistakes. He's only played 10 NFL games - I guarantee Reed has watched every single play of Kap's career, multiple times, and has a great sense of where he's going with the ball. I think the Ravens D has a great chance to force some INTs - but I also think if they play a lot of man, Kap will be able to scramble for huge gains, because the defense will have their backs to him.I think it's going to be an excellent game. But I have a sense the Ravens' experienced D might be able to play extremely disciplined team defense and force Kap out of his comfort zone.

Reed will no doubt be a huge factor in this game. I think any big play he makes will be when he gambles and NOT play disciplined because the niners are so good at scheming. If he can put himself where Kap doesn't expect him to be, it could be 6 going the other way. Double edged sword though.

I like how no one is talking about kap making turn overs. Prepare your self for it...it's coming
CK fumbles a lot. He fumbled 4 times in the win over the Patriots. Flacco fumbles as well including the Redskins loss where he fumbled 3 times. I think both QBs have been fumbling at a rate of about 1 per game lately.

1 fumble since the Pats game. 2 total fumbles lost in his career.

6 for 106 and a TD vs Atl. Thats what happens when u decide to go against the grain and give VD single coverage.

It's going to be close, but I'll take veteran experience over youthful athleticism in this one.Ravens 2049ers 17

The Final Four is generally littered with 1 and 2 seeds.

Big play on special teams gives Ravens the edge in a close game.
:goodposting:
As well as Flacco played, Jones was robbed of the MVP, IMO.
I think had the Ravens cruised to victory after going up 28-6, Jones might have won it, as his two TDs might have been seen as the daggers that buried the 49ers, but SF's comeback combined with Jones doing nothing after the kickoff return for a TD and Flacco making some huge throws in both of the second half FG drives, clinched it for Flacco.

I don't want to take anything away from Flacco since he played a great game, but Jones' TD was a dagger in the 49ers heart. The delay really helped the 49ers get the momentum back. Flacco attempted to pass 7 times on 3rd down in the 2nd half, resulting in:- an incomplete pass for a 3 and out- a sack resulting in a 3 and out- 3rd and 3, a 1st down on a 30 yard pass to Boldin (that got them in FG range)- an incomplete pass but got a defensive PI call- 3rd and 1, a 1st down on a 15 yard pass to Boldin- an incomplete pass but got a defensive offsides call- an incomplete pass

Okay, but there was no Ravens offensive possession in between the start of the 3rd quarter and the blackout, so we don't know if the blackout caused the Ravens offense to get shut down for a while or, more realistically, the 49ers defense made some adjustments at halftime that enabled them to slow down the Ravens offense. Different topic than "who should have been the MVP?", but I just think all of the "49ers only got back in it cause of the blackout" talk is lazy. Do we really think the 49ers would have laid down for the whole second half instead of fighting back had the blackout not happened? Keeping in mind that this is the same 49ers team that fought back from 24-7 two weeks earlier in Atlanta and won.
