Sell High Buy Low (1 Viewer)

This week

- I sold Woodhead in PPR. He was nowhere to be found in the 1st half of the game. Seems very game-flow dependent with a super low floor. San Diego looks capable of staying in front of Minnesota on the road. If he throws up a dud this week his trade value tumbles hard.

- I held Dion Lewis in PPR . He just looks like the real deal. There were multiple offers in my leagues.

- I bought Jeremy Hill in PPR. Rest of way TD ceiling is unaffected imho.

Donte Moncrief sell. I saw somebody paid an early 1st for this guy. He's good, but he's also seeing the 3rd best DB in most cases right now. Dorsett will be worked in and TY is still the focal point here. There will be some big games for him I'm sure, but I don't think the consistency will be there. I'd cash in if I got the right offer.
Awful analysis. Moncrief caught two of his balls against Revis and several against Cromartie (including the touchdown pass, where he was in the slot but was still covered by Cromartie). Andre Johnson is finished and Hilton clearly is not at full strength, may not be for weeks. He didn't look great and he came up limping after a play in the 4th quarter.

You're not paying attention if you think Moncrief has maxed value. Moncrief is going to be a stud this year. Easy WR2 rest of the season. I would be buying all day if I didn't already own him in six leagues.

He's a 3rd round pick in his sophomore season, so clearly has the talent/athleticism, has an amazing opportunity to put up big numbers because the Colts DEF sucks, and has the trust of one of the best QBs in the league.

BANK IT BROHEIM.
Sell now. Best you can get.
I don't get why people think he's a sell candidate. All signs are pointing towards solid consistent production from here on out. I grabbed him off waivers and I'd sell for the right price, but that price would have to be something fitting a solid WR2 trade.

I'll ask this, for those who think he's a sell candidate provide some examples of what would be fair return value

I was just offered Hilton for Eifert in non PPR. I don't know what yo do here. I also have Kelce. I am thinking of a counter for Kelce. I'm torn.

I'm going to offer Cooks and hope he doesn't laugh at me.

Sure we'll see some improvement from Jimmy Graham because Seattle will find a way to get him the ball.

Would make a good buy low but most people who drafted him will hold.

I am thinking of selling Marshawn Lynch. That o-line looks ungood and he has a juicy match-up this week. Am thinking of dangling him this week and if I don't get a bite for the right price this week that I can probably sell off of a strong performance.

Offered Woody for CJ Anderson (I have Hillman). Got Declined, from a owner that has 6 RBs. He has Hyde & just picked off waivers, Lewis starting, J Brown AZ in Flex. (CJ on his bench (in a PPR 10 Teamer)

I agree with this, if you are going to sell high on him do in about 3 weeks when Hilton is fully healthy and enjoy the nice production.

Buy low? all preseason top 10 rbs not named Jamal Charles!
Seriously. Has anyone looked at the current list of top-10 RBs in their league?
I like to use 12 running backs since I am only in 12 teams leagues but wow!!! In PPR scoring if you go top 10 only 2 of the backs that were drafted as top 10 guys are there. Charles and Forte. If you go to 12 you can add Peterson. The same can be said for receivers if you go with the drafted top 12 of Dez, Julio, Brown, OBJ, DT, Calvin, Cobb, Jeffery, Green, Hilton, Evans, Jordy. They only have 3 of the top 12 spots too. 4 if you want to take Hopkins or Sanders over Jordy if you drafted late enough.

Woody as in Woodhead? If so, that's a huge lowball.

Suit yourselves. All I'm saying is if you are getting offers like the guy who got a high 1st than sell high. But if you think his value goes up from here, by all means hold him. I'll take my awful analysis and fade away.

Didn't think it could be Woodhead, as he mentioned the team has 6 RBs.

People get too cute with nicknames.

TJ Yeldon = buy low. Rare three down back and comments this week from the coaching staff say they want to feed him until the throws up

Is Forsett a solid buy low option at this point? Or were rumors about last year being a one time thing for real?
i wouldn't touch forsett right now. taliaferro usage scares me. if he stays healthy, i think you're looking at a timeshare at best, and one in which forsett isn't receiving the GL carries.

Buy low:

Rivers (juicy schedule)

Forsett (i still think he'll be solid)
I like this call. My qbs blow and the Rivers owner has Brady. He got jacked up pretty good in that game.. Oline has to hold up.

Getting old faithful Gates back can only help.
Might be hard to get rivers this week from Brady owner with Brady on bye
Good point. Would offer one of my doo doo QBs in return.
Didn't the Bolts just lose several OL ?

Yep, and the Browns got SEVEN sacks against the Titans so-so OL. After week 4 Rivers' schedule is indeed juicy, but his upside is questionable behind that line, imo.

Would you say Luck is a buy low at this point? Was thinking of offering Rivers and Randle for Luck in my league to see if the owner bites. The Colts have to get things together at some point right?

Bought him last week. Sent over Matt Ryan, Boldin and Ivory for Luck, Watkins, and Starks (I own Lacy)

Suggestions for WRs to target?
Would B. Cooks be a good target? Wondering from anybody who watched the game. If Carolina's Norman was on him, his 79 yards seems pretty good. Has a home game this week, seems to do better in the SuperDome.

I just gave up on Cooks. Needed a TE and got Martellus for him.

He does not get touchdowns and can't beat press coverage at the line. QB situation looks bad right now and team seems to be intent on feeding the RBs.

For every cooks out there that was highly drafted, there are Stevie Johnson, Cecil shorts, Ted Ginn, Hankerson, Marvin Joneses sitting on waivers at one point or another who can give you similar value.

Rather go upside on Green Beckham. If he gets more integrated into that offense after the bye he will be real threat as he has Calvin Meaurables and already is showing he is a red zone threat on a team without one ( wright is not a TD guy)

What are your guys thoughts on selling high on Devonta Freeman?

He is a bit slow and has average quickness, but his situation is great. He gets a lot of catches and a good amount of receiving yards, and will see a lot of goal line looks in the Falcons offense that is clicking so far. Problem is, anyone who's watched their games knows that Tevin Coleman is the far superior back. Even with Sunday's game, Freeman's place as a starter remains pretty volatile.

It's highly probable that you won't be getting the likes of Bell, AP, Lacy, and Charles for Freeman and a nice other option, but one guy that I think you can swing Freeman and a nice other option for is Matt Forte.

Forte is a lot faster of a runner and will get a larger volume of receptions/receiving yards than Freeman, but his touchdown upside is trash in the Bears offense, which could see a lot of 3 and outs. However, his place as a starter is unquestioned, and he finished as an elite RB1 last year through sheer volume over touchdowns. Freeman is currently my flex, I love how my team would look with Forte at flex. But it's also possibly Freeman hangs on to the starting job the rest of the way and posts elite numbers. But Forte is the much safer bet.

Another option would be Arian Foster, but owning Foster is a headache with all his injuries, and i highly doubt he's coming back strong this year after having surgery on his problematic groin. No way I'm dealing for Foster.

Not many other elite backs worth trading up for after that. Which brings me to wide receivers:

Due to a huge shortage of reliable starting RBs, I know plenty of teams that went WR heavy that would jump at the chance to get Freeman.

One of those teams has Al Morris and McFadden at RB, I think he'd be willing to part with his flex Emmanuel Sanders for Freeman and maybe a nice other option.

Another trade I've been considering making to an RB needy team is Freeman for Alshon Jeffery straight up. The owner might be frustrated with Jeffery's hamstring issues, which could potentially limit him all year, and Cutler is out for a few weeks, Jeffery is a risky buy low option. But if he is healthy, watch out, the Bears are gonna be playing from behind a LOT this year, and there's no one else to throw to. I foresee a ton of garbage points coming for Jeffery.

So should I keep Freeman? Or would Forte or Sanders or Jeffery make for a much more dangerous looking team? Who else would you target?

I'd try to sell Freeman. He's never going to be at a higher point in value unless Coleman tears an ACL or something. There's a reason Coleman won the starting job outright in camp. Freeman is going to have a major role, but I think both of them will vulture off each other.

Although I believe more in Randle than some others, I'm exploring trading him as well for the right price.
