Serious Biz Dynasty - Eephus is year 18 champion - League is full for 2026 (10 Viewers)

FCFS mayhem? Seems unpossible.
There were ~500 transactions last year, 23 took place in the first day after transactions were opened up. Pik went a bit bonkers though.
I  PIkNot sure I would have ever left this league knowing what I know about PIK now. Even if you're the commish.
I'm the only one with enough patience to deal with the CBS commissioner tools
This. And thank god for it.

I'm sitting in an E.R. right now hoping to get some antibiotics that will cure me enough to actually sleep. So you may see a 2:00 am waiver move here. I'm looking at Brock Holt or Christian Vazquez first.

Did you get the clap from Kraft?

Has there been debate in this league about the 1 DL slot? Seems slim for a full on Dynasty. Don't want to be new guy squeaky wheel but . . . . . . . well I guess I am being THAT GUY

15 man benches aren't big enough  You can keep over 2/3 of a starting lineup in reserve.

Keep in mind the INJ slot is just an extra bench position. In accordance with HIPAA, there's no enforcement of DL or injury status.

I WANT MORE!

I always wanted a bigger bench but we have a Führer here.

Anybody feel like doing a season preview/predictions bit?

If not, maybe we could all (some or a few in reality) do a self-scout of ourselves and guesstimate how we'll do.

My not-very-thorough analysis:

Prohibitive favorite: Hoos First

Other contenders: NV, HellToupee, Eephus, BoubCheese

Mid-table: Greedygoat, Berserker, Sparty

Rebuilding: RnR, pik, the 3 new teams

Self-scout: My stud SP give me a chance to score a lot of pitching points. Offense is promising but probably a year or two away. With a ton of luck I might be able to scrape out a cash, but my real goal is just to get my team in position to contend in 2016 while staying relatively young.

I'm going to break down BoubCheese's team in detail.

Boub has been in the league since 2011 and his 64.5 points in 2014 (7th place) was his highest total.

It's an interesting team to assess because he was one of the first teams to go all in on building a young team. This generally hasn't been a winning strategy in this league although there has been a definite trend toward stashing prospects. I think it's viable to build around young talent but at some point you have to switch into winning mode by chasing categories and managing your roster slots differently. 15 man reserve rosters sound like a lot but it gets tricky to juggle when almost half of them are are minor leaguers.

It's also an interesting case because Boub is sitting out 2015 putting the team in the hands of Cheese. I know I have a tendency to get attached to players I've held for a long time. Maybe a reboot is a good thing because Cheese will be able make decisions without any historical baggage.

I'm comparing using the semi-nebulous CBS projects and the category targets from this Razzball article http://razzball.com/stats-needed-to-win-your-fantasy-baseball-league/.

Offensively, BoubCheese is very solid. Any big league GM would love to have the young core of Trout/Harper/Freeman/Myers/Wong/Castro. There are some nice complimentary pieces as well. The projected offensive category totals are all above average except for SBs. He finished middle of the pack offensively last year. Unfortunately, I can't find the 2014 category scores on CBS but I'm sure we have a much higher scoring deviation than the typical redraft. The bench is split between guys who would start in most leagues Hosmer/Gyorko/Jennings and prospects who won't contribute this year. I don't think Jennings will steal enough bases to warrant starting but he's well above replacement level when somebody gets hurt. The team looks pretty solid in OBP but I'm not going to try to calculate projected numbers.

Boub's starting pitching is strong but thin. If he gets 800+ IP out of Scherzer/Zimmermann/Iwakuma/Cole things will be good. But there's a big drop off from there. The death of Cliff Lee hurts this team. The return of Matt Moore could help but he's still Matt Moore. Boub has the Detroit closer nailed down with Nathan and Soria but nothing beyond that. It's impossible to chase SVs while holding a lot of prospects on the bench. This is something Cheese will have address before this team challenges for championships.

My team is very good. I'd like it to be better. I have no prospect capital to trade. I picked up some prospects today. If they start off hot, they're on the block.

Pitching has been my weakness from day one. Its better this year than past couple. Likely still not quite good enough. I have no young hitters to trade for Cueto.

I have 4 Canadians and 6 Blue Jays.

Stanton would suffice.

Depending ho how things start I'll likely have some guys OTB in season: Victor, Melky, Weaver, Byrd, Rios, Jackson, Hardy, Phillips and my closers(Neftali, McGee)

Help me, Help you :hifive:

I'll give you what you gave me for him. <_<

My days of hoarding a bunch of crap closers are passed. I didn't time the market correctly because they never had much trade value when I was sitting on 6 of them.

Hoos is going to own the SV category this year but his closers are actually good.
