So the schticky, save a dog or human polls are funny and all, but I have a question here I'd like to know your true answer to.

Say there is a man who is a serial dog killer. He is no danger to other humans, but there is no way to stop him. The only way this guy will ever stop and the only way he can be stopped is to kill him. Until you kill him, he keeps shooting dogs willy-nillie.

My question is, how many dogs would he have to kill before you would feel justified in killing him?

For me, this is truly a tough call. I've tried to put in enough poll options to get a good gauge of how you really think on the subject.

2nd POLL OPTION NOW AVAILABLE!!!!

As a side note and different hypothetical, how many dogs would a person have to kill before you would justify the death penalty?

Too many options.

assuming incarceration is not an option, I'd say right after I've determine the bolded.

Why do we have to kill him? Why can we just take his guns or amputate his limbs so he can't fire a gun?

For some reason, the initial poll didn't stick.

I would send him to India first. Or some other place where his compulsion might be of some benefit.

So you want people to take this poll seriously, yet he is unstoppable aside from death? Seems unserious to me.

I seriously cannot decide how to vote. It is so hard in a vacuum to make this call. On the one hand I value human life above all other animals. On the other hand I truly love dogs. Also, it takes a psychopath to kill animals for sport, IMO. I expect my answer to be a much higher number than most, but I can't figure out how high to go. It is a very gray area for me.

  1. How many dogs can a person murder before they deserve the death penalty?1 (3 votes [75.00%]) If you guys are joking...haha. If you are serious, I hope you see a therapist.

who hasnt killed a couple dogs just for kicks?
Hopefully, none of us. I believe cruelty to animals is the #1 correlating trait among serial killers.

Didn't you want to isolate a dog outside in 100 degree weather and then go around killing some cats?
No. I had planned on keeping two dogs outside with a doghouse and shade trees in Southern Missouri, but have been educated and now plan to have one dog that lives indoors as part of the family. And I've never killed a cat in my life.

I couldn't get past the "willy-nillie" part. If you're going -ly on one word, why switch it up to -lie on the other?

Note to self, either asking for people's true answer means schtick will abound, or there are a lot of people who honestly value a dog's life over a human's.

I really hope its the former, because if it is the latter, you are truly awful people.

Jayrod is oddly obsessed with convincing people that dog's shouldn't be treated as anything more than a piece of property.

A "zero" vote doesn't necessarily mean you value a dog's life over a human's. You could just value a non-killer's life over a killer's. If you replace "man" with "Canadian" and "dog" with "Mexican" in the original question, everyone's answer would be zero, and it wouldn't be because they value Mexican life over Canadian life - it's because the Canadian is the psycho going around killing everyone.

I gotta know more about the guy. Is he a pretty good guy otherwise? Is he killing a dog a week, or 40 dogs a day?

I have a good friend of mine that has killed a few, maybe 3 or 4, of his own dogs for various reasons and I would never dream of killing him. He's a nice guy.

What were these reasons? Sick and they had to be put to sleep? :oldunsure:

I believe they were all aggressive.

I'm sure that was a coincidence.

What about this hypothetical question.

What if a man wants to buy two dogs but lock them outside? How many days until you would want to kill this abusive #####?

5000000 = 1 dog killed per minute for ~10 years.

Lofty goal, you'd have to respect that kind of commitment.

huh? I don't usually impart the punishment when someone commits a crime, that's what we have the legal system for. And for the death penalty I don't think animal cruelty currently classifies as a capitol offence.

This pole doesn't make any sense........not sure why I'm surprised.

ETA: Wouldn't the better question be whether or not you agree with your state's laws and punishments for animal cruelty and/or what should they be?

Really odd pole.

I have heard there are studies that have linked animal cruelty to serial killers. If correct, the point at which he deserves the label "serial dog-killer" this person will likely be engaged in even more heinous activities.

Jayrod is oddly obsessed with convincing people that dog's shouldn't be treated as anything more than a piece of property.
Not really.I'm just curious to find out whether this whole concept of saving a dog before a person is just people trying to be funny or if they really feel that way.

I guess you are saying dogs and humans are equals?

Exactly. Which is why zero or one is a legitimate answer. If I know he's going to kill every dog he will ever see, why would I put a dog or two in front of him first? If the upper limit that he will kill is infinity, why would you sacrifice dogs "infinity - x" where "x" is your vote in this poll?
