Wow.  I thought this would be a slam dunk for breakfast sausage wrapped in pancakes.   I have never heard of it called hot dogs wrapped in dough.  Interesting

aka, hot-dog.

don't try to tell me you guys think sausages are the same things as hot-dogs.
A hot dog is a type of sausage.  All hot dogs are sausages, not all sausages are hot dogs.
all hot dogs are emulsified sausages. agreed.

and according to henry's betty crocker thing, "weiner" describes size and shape or a hotdog... as does "frankfurter".

if you were to tell me you were giving me a sausage, and then gave me a hot-dog, I'd wonder why you didn't just say "hot-dog". likewise, if I were at a restaurant that offered hotdogs, but then trotted out a non-emulsified sausage in their place, I'd be overwrought.

phallus.

getting back to the crux of this...

I've never heard of the pancake/breakfast version of this- and others are saying the opposite- so I just googled "pig in a blanket" to look at the first images that show up.

had to scroll waaaay down the page to get to the first image of a pancake/breakfast looking thing. there were more pictures of actual pigs in actual blankets and even a sketch of a guy having sex with a woman's breasts (I thought that was "titty-#######" not "pig in a blanket) before that lone pancake pic turned up. I'm not saying the pancake people are wrong... but google might be.

Google gives different results to different people, based on what they think you want to see.  If you're from an area where no one uses the phrase to refer to the breakfast dish, Google probably assumed that's not what you were looking for.  I just did the same search and there are pancakes right there near the top of the page (along with the hot dog variety and actual pigs in blankets, but a disturbing lack of ####).

check out the brains on elenchi.

excellent point. I stand corrected.

Decided to join the club and take this to google images.

Titty####### pics: 0

Black Lives Matter protest pics: 1

Neat.

I also think you're more likely to see titty ####### pictures if you search for "pig in a blanket" rather than "pigs in a blanket"

Oh, I thought you said Pug in a blanket

growing up, it was hotdogs wrapped in dough (usually Pillsbury biscuits from the can). When I got older, and travelled, I noticed some people called sausage and pancakes pigs in a blanket. Every time I've seen it on a menu, it's been for the breakfast version. But it'll always be a hot dog in dough to me. And it's delicious.

Did a Google search of pig in a blanket and got one titty ####### pic. Then I googled titty ####### and got no pig in a blanket pics. Weird.

We always called them "Pigs in Blankets" - seems to me that you should either say that or pig in a blanket.

Voted lunch/dinner food but we never have them at meal times but for special occasions and parties.

Interestingly enough my Google search results in more sausages wrapped in bacon images than anything else.  I think Google just knows that I love bacon.
