I'm always good for 7.Let's go four!
Yup, go ahead.Do I still have one pick?
Look at from a viewpoint of someone seeing two OTs who rate above the rest so the next highest ranked player would obviously earn a lower grade thus whoever drafted outside of the top two would automatically garner a lower grade by no fault of the person drafting so the grade is objective and not a reflection on the person making the picks but a sheer stark look at the quality of the players drafted.Basically the first Mendoza Line was crossed at the OT position after Ty Smith and Castonzo were taken off the board so the next team who got the lower ranked OT got a lesser grade. I noted Castonzo for that reason not as an accusation of the team drafting the next ranked OT, it was a note to myself as to why a lower grade was given. Not here to ##### and whine about the grade, it's more than fair.Just want to point out that I also believe Castonzo is a better fit (not sure he's much better than Carimi but he's a more legitimate LEFT tackle prospect at this point), however he wasn't available when I picked so it's pretty damn hard to pick him. Unless of course you feel I should have moved up?New York Giants
Grade B+
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
19. New York Giants (J Andersson)
+Gabe Carimi OT, Wisconsin
> Brooks Reed (OLB, Arizona)
Shane Vereen (RB, California)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Costanzo will be the best OT prospect so begin with a B- but Brooks Reed is one of my favs of this draft and looks like an incredible bargain late in the second so the grade bumps up to a final of B+
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I could also do 4 rounds, but that would be my limit, it will be harder to pick late round players who aren't RBs or WRs.I'm in for 4.
Me tooI'm in for 4.
The draft isn't how I wanted it to go. I wanted more help at OT or OG, but I didn't feel like the value was there. I read Football outsiders, and they have Houston as the 2nd best pass rusher in the draft based on his production and combine numbers. I think they need to worry about replacing Cullen Jenkins pass rush abilities, and Houston was the best player for that goal at that spot.I was hoping that Carpenter would be available at the end of #2, and he went 2.22 to the Colts. For my second pick, it really was a coin flip between Boling and Casey. Once I had the option to trade down, I thought I could get Moffit at 4.5, so I went Casey based on later DT/DE availability.Final draft grades:

Woodson isn't going to last forever & I'm satisfied with the Pack's current LBs so I would have taken CB Aaron Williams in the 1st. At 3.05 my pick would be the same as my pick at 3.08 for the Saints with RB Kendall Hunter.'fatkid said:Feel free to take the Packers. Watt is solid and fit’s the Pat defensive scheme and is a need but the Patriots gave up Richard Seymour so it cancels out a good solid start so onto Ben-I who rates lower than Sherrod to start out with a C-. Leshoure and Hankerson bump up the final grade to a C+ and last year’s dealing of Rany Moss for an extra third round choice kicks up the final grade to a B- but can’t go higher since the net margin of talent lost/gained doesn’t justify a higher grade.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
First, it's fair to compare players within the context of a draft, not to former members of the team that went to Pro Bowls. Secondly, Sherrod was taken a few picks before Ijalana and the difference in rating between the players at NationalFootballPost was 7.0 to 6.9. BTW, Schilling and Love both are in the top 7 of available guards.

If the Pats miraculously got the 17th pick in the first round without giving up anything then I would agree that the context would be to only compare draft picks with draft picks but when a future pick is traded for a player and the player has produced for two years then I will factor in the player given up for me to make sense of the context of what was given up for the pick so in my evaluation I zedded out the trasnaction because Seymour already has two years of service in for the Raiders that Watt would have to make up before he could start gaining ground and I feel that if they play this year that Seymour will gain more ground on a rookie. Maybe sometime by Watt's third season he will start to overtake Seymour but I can't precict that far. So if you feel I can't do that then I respect your opinion to disagree with me but I hold to my opinion. My grade on rookie first round picks has already been established, how others rate a specific player is in a general context. We have this particular mock as the context of how the players went off the board and its clear that everyone is of a consensus that this draft is rich in defensive linemen and only one O-Lineman rated a top-ten selection. I felt that their was a dropoff from the top-two O-Linemen and used the top-two OL as my baseline.'Bracie Smathers said:Final draft grades:

Great pick. Fantastic value at this stage. With the 4.3 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select:John Moffitt - OG - WisconsinI feel that the Bills are again getting great value at a postion of need. There are talks that the Bills will be moving Eric Wood over to Center permanently and will open up a spot for Moffitt to come in and potentially start. After taking Cam Newton with the 3rd overall pick it would be nice to help get him a little more protection. I've seen Moffitt usually going in the 3rd round of mocks and at one point was ranked ahead of certain guys while in Mayoks top 5.
