Shark Pool Mock Draft - V2.0. 3 rounds! (1 Viewer)

75. San Francisco (Andy Dufresne) - John Greco, OT - Toledo

76. Detroit (FUBAR) Beau Bell, MLB, UNLV: Detroit needs a strong MLB, and Bell is an experienced quality LB. He's not the most athletic guy, but he won't miss many tackles.

77. Cincinnati (yellowdog) - Ray Rice, RB - Rutgers You could put all their current RBs together and still not have a healthy one. Rice is the answer.

78. New Orleans (Kirby)

79. Houston (coolnerd)

80. Philadelphia (Jeff Pasquino)

81. Arizona (Getinthemix)

82. Minnesota (footballman_696969)

Curveball...

72. Buffalo (Mr. Peterson) - Jermichael Finley, TE - Texas
Wow, you guys move fast durring the day. Sorry I missed the pick. Andy, not a very good selection for the Bills. I think the TE's we have now are better than Finley.

With no CB's or TE's worth taking the choice here would have been an obvious John Greco from Toledo. A great talent who can play either guard or tackle. I feel that he would be good value this late in the draft too. The whole right side of our offensive line is not very good and needs to get better quickly. Greco would be able to fill one of those positions nicely once the Bills found out if he was better suited for G or T in the NFL.
Your TE's are terrible and Finley is going to be a much better option in the passing game.
He might be better than what we have now, but not enough to reach for him when there is better options out there. He's no better than the talent we would have been able to pick up in the 4th. Shoot, he probably would have fallen to us in the 4th. Greco would have been a MUCH better selection for the Bills. I'm not trying to slam your pick, just wish I was here to make the right one.

Me too. :bag: Finley is much better than he's being given credit for. He's just a bit raw.

77. Cincinnati (yellowdog) - Ray Rice, RB - Rutgers You could put all their current RBs together and still not have a healthy one. Rice is the answer.
Just for the record, if I would have taken Merling, Rivers, or Cherilus in the first as I had considered, I would have taken Rice here. Who am I kidding? I probably would have taken Rice in the 2nd.

After all the drafting they've done at the position, to have the injury riddled backfield they do is incredible. It's where RBs go to die. Hope Ray Rice has Dr. Andrews on speed dial. If not, I'm sure he can get the number from Ki-Jana Carter.

78. New Orleans (Kirby) - Jeremy Zuttah, OG/C - Rutgers

Kirby says they'll make him a center.

Houston Texans select Matt Forte RB Tulane

This is the perfect spot where need meets the maybe the highest rated player on the board. Forte gives a young runner to develop long-term. he has good size and was highly productive at tulane. At least his combine speed was better than expected.

Considered another WR here (seriously). Not to name drop, but a 1-AA WR that can return kicks was close to the pick, but - I'll go Andy Reid style and pick an OT with big upside.

Tony Hills, Texas

RB was a third option, but decided to go elsewhere.

 As a newly minted Houston Texan fan, I approve of this pick.

As the owner of the 1.6 rookie pick, I'd be liking this as well.1.1 McFadden1.2 Mendenhall1.3 Stewart1.4 Jones/Rice1.5 Rice/Jones1.6 Forte :lmao:

Philadelphia Eagles:

1.19 (19) Limas Sweed, WR

2.19 (49) DaJuan Morgan, S

3.19 (80) Tony Hills, OT
I said before that I like the Sweed/Morgan combo. Hills is interesting. He was playing at an All American level before breaking that leg. They have to roll the dice at least a little since they must be concerned about Winston Justice.

Worth the risk in the 3rd, IMO.

I wonder about Charles fitting in Arizona.Chris Ellis would be a good situational pass rusher for the Vikes.

Wait, you would put Rice in the same grouping as F.Jones while he is in Denver? I would have a hard time taking Stewart over F.Jones at #3. Felix would be a stud in Denver. And what about Johnson? Where would he fit in to your rankings?

I agree, I think that Hills is the type of player that Philly likes to gamble on. They can afford to be wrong with a pick this year, and he has upside, so I like the risk.

You're right, I forgot Denver drafted Felix. In that situation, I'd put 3. Jones 4. Stewart 5. Rice. I think their skill levels are close enough to allow Jones to move ahead of Stewart. I'd probably put Johnson 8th after these six and Charles.

Pick 85, Tennessee Titans select Earl Bennett, WR, Vanderbilt

Titans take the kid from across the street at Vandy. I think he's being completely underrated because he doesn't have elite speed even though he ran a respectable 4.48 at the combine. Earl's going to be a WR Vince can trust for years to come. I compare him to Greg Jennings. A good wr with plenty of football speed.

I cannot believe he goes this late. I thought about him to San Fran in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds. He may be the most NFL-Ready receiver in the draft.

Good fit. The Eagles would consider him in Round 3 if they don't get a WR in Round 1.

I was surprised too. I was considering him in the 2nd round. He's just not exciting enough for drafters I guess. I think he's going to be very good. Like I said, Greg Jennings version 2.0.Tennessee has really bolstered it's offense with the last 2 picks imo.

If the other Philly scenario plays out (take OT or S in Round 1) Bennett's the guy in Round 2.

Bennett would have been a strong consideration for the Bills in the 3rd had we not already taken Doucet in the 2nd. Helk, even with Doucet in the 2nd I still wouldn't be bothered if the Bills were to take Bennett in the 3rd. The Cards did something like that a couple years ago with Boldin and that woked out well for them.

Sorry it took so long, the list wasn't updated and I wanted to make sure I did not take a player that was already taken

#86 - Seahawks - Michael McGlynn - OT/G/C, Pittsburgh - The Hawks grab the most versatile offensive lineman in the draft. After the Senior Bowl O Line coaches were saying he is the most versatile lineman to enter the draft in years. He is 6'4" 311 lbs and has played Guard and Tackle for Pitt and he is also proficient at long snapping.

Seahawks Picks

1st Round - WR Devin Thomas - #1 WR on my board

2nd Round - TE Martellus Bennett - #1 TE on my board

3rd Round - OT/G - Michael McGlynn - #3 Guard on my board

I sure would be happy with my Rams if they could come out of the first 3 rounds with players like these three

Jake or Chris Long

Dan Conner

John Sullivan

Regardless if it's Chris or Jake I would still go Conner (or Mayo) in the 2nd.

I would have loved to get Flowers in the third, thought that would have been a steal.

Overall would be very happy, I just pray we don't go DT again. I think Dorsey will be a stud but we have missed on to many DT's to try again for awhile.

Rest of the draft I'd like to see 2 DE's a WR, Guard and a young qb

:popcorn:DAMN it !

87. Detroit (FUBAR) Andre Woodson, QB - Kentucky I'm not a huge fan, but with Roy an Calvin on board, and only Stanton behind Kitna, we'll take a risk.

88. Pittsburgh - Tyvon Branch, DB, Connecticut

Steelers need a nickel corner, a possible starter to replace McFadden and/or Townsend next year, and a S if Clark doesn't heal and Smith continues to get burned. Branch could possibly give them all 3 in one pick. He's not fluid and doesn't have great hands, but he has a freakish combination of size and speed. At 6' 210 with a 4.31 run at the combine, he's the most athletic guy in this draft at DB. He has 1st round measurables, but hasn't yet reached his potential on the field, which drops him to the mid rounds. He hits hard and is a very good tackler, which can't be underestimated. Some coaching could uncover a gem, which is what the Pittsburgh faithful must hope for. If it doesn't pan out right away, expect to see a CB chosen in round 1 in the '09 draft.

ETA : Also should mention that he led the Big East with 28.9 yards per kick return and scored twice on 27 returns. Seeing as the Steelers cut Rossum, this adds another dimension to his potential contribution.

89. Tavares Gooden, LB- University of Miami.

Although the Jaguars have selected LB's early in the last two drafts and have a nice rotation working for them, they choose to add depth to their LB corps.

The Packers will take Eddie Royal or if the Bears take him then Donnie Avery.

The pack need a slot Wr for when Driver is done.

Cason, Chris Johnson, Fred Davis, Royal/Avery is a heck of an offensive push for the Pack.

It might be a reach but I think that Heath Benedict might be a great pick for Green Bay. Teddy Thompson loves Offensive linemen and loves small school prospects.

Even moreso - the Pack used a converted LB at FB last year and I am sure this is a spot they could grab a guy who would be leading the way and busting facemasks for the next 8 years. Owen Schmitt would put a huge smile on my face at this point in the draft if I am a Packers fan or a Ryan Grant owner. I really think he is the best fullback to come into the league in a while.

Wow - I feel horrible. That was so accidental. I did not know. I will get my facts straight.

Sorry guys. I am sooo redfaced right now. God Bless you Heath.

I like both these picks. In fact, Branch probably would have been the last Atlanta pick.Gooden should go higher than that too. I have to wonder about that Miami team. They had too much talent to be so bad. The bad parts must have been terrible.
