Another well-reasoned pick. Hard to argue too strenuously against it.I will say, I would have gone Bryant here. Dallas is in a win-now mode. Bryant is much more likely to make a contribution this season. A big run-stuffing NT is the one missing element in their front 7. Hawkins now joins the mish-mash of backup receivers including Hurd, Austin, and Stanback behind TO, Crayton, and Glenn. Can Dallas keep 7 WRs on the 53 man roster? Who gets cut?92 - Dallas Cowboys - LaVelle Hawkins, WR, Cal
I like Hawkins; he actually had a better season stats wise than DeSean Jackson last year. I feel like if Terry Glenn doesn't play this season, Hawkins will at least be a solid #4 WR and potentially push for the #3 slot.
The only other player I was looking at here was Red Bryant, but so much of what I have read on him says underachiever, gets lazy at times... plus a torn ACL in 2006 made me lean towards the WR.
We'll cover for youj.I’m really busy today. When it gets to Washington could you pick the highest rated CB/LB/OL available on Dufresne’s big board
90. Chicago (Deranged Hermit) - Roy Schuening OG Oregon State
91. Green Bay (Almas_4th_child) - Donnie Avery, WR - Houston
92. Dallas (LarryAllen'sJockstrap) - LaVelle Hawkins, WR, Cal
93. Indianapolis (FUBAR) - Kevin Smith, UCF: Backup to Addai with the potential to start eventually

If... the draft somehow went down like this, I would assume Austin is gone. He only caught 5 passes last season and was only fair/decent on kick returns. I know Stewart can return kicks, so Austin should be expendable. Owens, Crayton and Stanbeck will be back; Hurd I would assume also. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't be banking on Glenn. He'll be a 34 year old speed receiver coming off micro-fracture knee surgery. If the Cowboys bring in another WR (draft or trade) and Glenn isn't back, I wouldn't be surprised to see them compete with Stanbeck and Hurd for the #3.BTW - In January, the Cowboys signed Junior Siavii, a 6-5, 330 lb DT who was a secound round pick of KC in 04. Not saying he will even make the team, but it's another big body.Another well-reasoned pick. Hard to argue too strenuously against it.I will say, I would have gone Bryant here. He'll do96. Washington (John Madden's Lunchbox) - Ali Highsmith, LB - LSUBounced back from a poor combine to have a nice pro day. Should fit the Redskins scheme pretty well, I think.

Colts were "this close" to taking him at 93. He'll be a good possession WR, although I think the Giants need help elsewhere. Plax, Smith, Shockey, Toomer, Moss, Boss... they're pretty well off with receivers. The Bengals wanted him at 97.Giants will take Jordy Nelson, WR.

I'm not calling it a stretch, and he's good value. I would just think other areas could be addressed. I do like the pick, it's the comment that I'm not sure of.Toomer is nearly done and Moss is teetering on bust status. I don't think the Nelson pick is a stretch.Colts were "this close" to taking him at 93. He'll be a good possession WR, although I think the Giants need help elsewhere. I asked this same question earlier.I'm not sure I see Tennessee taking a TE on Day 1 with Scaife and Crumpler on board.
Since they moved Rolle to safety, getting Jenkins to play the corner was ideal. Laws will help in either the 3-4 or 4-3. Not sure if Charles fits the scheme.Arizona (Getinthemix)
16. Mike Jenkins CB, USF
50. Trevor Laws, DE Notre Dame
81. Jamaal Charles, RB Texas
I would think that Falcons fans would be mostly pleased with this. Their defense would be much improved with Dorsey/Lofton. Henne could be a better pro than college player. If Collins doesn't pan out, there will be trouble on the o-line. Smaller school prospects need to come through for the secondary.Atlanta (Andy Dufresne)

34. Chad Henne, QB Michigan
37. Curtis Lofton, LB Oklahoma
48. Anthony Collins, OT Kansas

8. Branden Albert, OL
38. Justin King, CB PSU
99. Zach Bowman, CB Nebraska
Harvey was a surprise pick but I like it, especially since they got Stroud in FA. Doucet would be a fine #2 for Evans. I think Mr. Peterson was right in that Finley wasn't the right pick there. That's on me.Buffalo (Getinthemix)
11. Derrick Harvey DE Florida
41. Early Doucet, WR LSU
72. Jermaichael Finley, TE Texas
Williams and Cousins are both good picks - I think they need o-line help. Flacco was value, but I'm not sure they look at QB that early. Harrison is a major character risk.Carolina (travdogg)
13. Chris Williams OT Vanderbilt
43. Joe Flacco, QB Deleware
67. Oniel Cousins, G UTEP
74. Marcus Harrison, DT Arkansas
I like the Otah/Manningham picks. I think Manningham is going to be a good pro. Risky pick in Johnson - he's boom or bust. Schuening hasn't looked good in the post season, but his on field production is good.Chicago (Deranged Hermit)
14. Jeff Otah OT Pitt
44. Mario Manningham, WR
70. Josh Johnson, QB San Diego
90. Roy Schuening OG Oregon State
Good job getting the defensive help they really need in the first two rounds. Rice could be a steal. Pollak is highly rated.Cincinnati (yellowdog)

97. Mike Pollak, C/G ASU
These would be good players to both contribute now and build on for the future. I understand the idea of RB in the first, even if I don't agree with it.Dallas (LarryAllen'sJockstrap)

28. Aqib Talib, CB Kansas
61. Patrick Lee, CB Auburn

I like the Mendenhall/Nicks picks. But Beau Bell hasn't looked good at all in the post season. And with one injured QB already on roster, I'm not sure about drafting another.Detroit (FUBAR)

45. Carl Nicks, OT
76. Beau Bell, LB UNLV
87. Andre Woodson, QB Kentucky
Terrific draft for the Pack. Cason is really underrated at this point. Johnson would be the compliment they hoped they were getting in Jackson. Davis & Avery should help Aaron Rodgers.Green Bay (Almas_4th_child)

56. Chris Johnson RB ECU
60. Fred Davis, TE USC

Putting together a really nice defense in Houston. Forte would play a lot. Can Gibbs make chicken salad out of chicken poop regarding the o-line?Houston (coolnerd)
18. Keith Rivers

Picking as late as they did, these are two excellent picks for the Colts. Jones is good depth at DE and Smith should be an improvement over Kenton Keith.Indianapolis (FUBAR)
59. Jason Jones, DE Eastern Michigan
93. Kevin Smith, RB UCF
I'm not buying Campbell in the first. But the remaining picks are outstanding. Caldwell could be a steal - I think he breaks the "Florida WR" stigma.Jacksonville (Mr. Brownstone)
26. Calais Campbell, DE
58. Brandon Flowers, CB Virginia Tech
71. Andre Caldwell, WR Florida
89. Tavares Gooden, LB University of Miami
Might have been better if the offensive line help had come earlier. I like the 3rd round WRs as much as I do Jackson in the 2nd. But I think Ryan is going to be a stud.Kansas City (RBM)
5. Matt Ryan
35. DeSean Jackson, WR
66. Duane Brown, OT Virginia Tech
This looks a lot like a Parcells draft. Getting Brohm in the 2nd is a coup. Carlson and Godfrey should start right away.Miami (Gatorman)
1. Chris Long
32. Brian Brohm QB, Louiville.
57. John Carlson, TE Notre Dame
64. Charles Godfrey, CB Iowa
I like getting both Merling and Ellis. Ellis will be more situational, but that's okay. Smith should play often and take over for Sharper quickly. Royal could be a hidden gem.Minnesota (footballman_696969)
17. Phillip Merling
47. Reggie Smith, DB
73. Eddie Royal, WR Va. Tech
82. Chris Ellis, DE Virginia Tech
Well they obviously don't need much more offense, now do they? LB depth was mandatory and they got it in spades. Surprised DRC is the first corner, but I'm good with it.New England (Chaos Commish)
7. Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, CB - Tennesee St.
62. Cliff Avril, DE Purdue
69. Jonathan Goff, LB Vanderbilt
94. Marcus Howard, OLB Georgia
Cornerback was mandatory, even with the Randall Gay signing. Sims is good value there. Might have been better going for LB depth rather than o-line, but Zuttah's a nice/versatile player.New Orleans (Kirby)
10. Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
40. Pat Sims, DT Auburn
78. Jeremy Zuttah, OG/C Rutgers
This would be solid for the Giants. Phillips should play right away. Henderson at least provides depth for a shallow LB corps. Nelson is the Giants type.New York Giants (footballman_696969)
31. Kenny Phillips
63. Erin Henderson, LB Maryland
95. Jordy Nelson, WR Kansas St.
Love McFadden. Love Mayo. Not sure Mayo fits the 3-4 any better than Vilma did though.New York Jets (KellysHeroes)
6. Darren McFadden
36. Jerod Mayo, LB Tennesse
The correct pick. Their offensive line is obviously still a huge problem area.Oakland (John Madden's Lunchbox)
4. Vernon Gholston
I've done a 180 on Sweed and think he can make an impact right away. Morgan will play early. Hills is a question mark with injury, but has every chance to start ahead of the disappointing Winston Justice - when it comes to that.Philadelphia (Jeff Pasquino)
19. Limas Sweed
49. DaJuan Morgan, S, NC State
80. Tony Hills, OT Texas
They needed to get tougher along the lines and they did it. Branch isn't well known, but should contribute.Pittsburgh (Evilgrin72)
23. Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
53. Dre Moore, DT, Maryland

Baker's stock is all over the board. Some like him, some hate him. If he can make the transition, he should be okay on the right side.San Diego (bicycle_seat_sniffer)
27. Sam Baker, OT USC
I like this draft for SF. Groves would be a steal that late. The o-line needs this improvement. The team still needs some more skill at the WR spot, though.San Francisco (Andy Dufresne)
29. Quentin Groves, OLB Auburn
39. Chilo Rachal, OG USC
75. John Greco, OT Toledo
Love the Thomas/Bennett combo. McGlynn is up and down but a nice pick. Team still needs some d-line help.Seattle (Buddyball2k3)
25. Devin Thomas, WR
55. Martellus Bennett, TE Texas A&M
86. Michael McGlynn OT/G/C, Pittsburgh
I like the two picks on the o-line. Dan Connor was a steal. WR depth is pretty thin.St. Louis (Blackjacks)
2. Jake Long
33. Dan Connor, LB PSU

A duo of Balmer/Henderson would be nice. I like the Keller pick because I think Crumpler is on a steep decline and Scaife is just average. Bennett at that point is a total and complete steal.Tennessee (scrumptrulescent)

I'd really like to see the Packers pick him up in the middle rounds. Nice combo of size and speed. With a couple years of tuttelage, the kid could be a solid man coverage guy.I also like Scandrick and Branch as mid-round potentials for Green Bay as well. Could be some solid man cover corners down a bit on the list in this years draft. One guy I think we whiffed on was Antwaun Molden, CB - Eastern Kentucky. Sounds like teams really like him.
There was a reason that Atlanta let Crumpler go. It wasn't because he was too good for the team.Thanks. Crumpler factored into my choice quite a bit. Keller can learn from Crumpler to become a stud in the future as well as a pretty good target in 2008. It's the same reason I took Balmer....he can learn from Haynesworth. And Bennett is NFL ready, like you stated. There was a reason that Atlanta let Crumpler go.
